Telling your parents they're going to be grandparents has to be one of the most joyous moments of pregnancy.
Finally announcing the news not only makes it feel more real, you then have other people there to share in your excitement.
The couple carefully planned a surprise for her birthday, writing 'Happy Birthday, Grandma' on a card, with the idea to follow this with a picture of the ultrasound.
But the announcement didn't go quite as planned, as Moore told the Kelly Clarkson Show, with the soon-to-be grandma missing the news and instead feeling slighted for her age.
"And the card just said, 'Happy birthday, Grandma'. And she read the card and was like, 'Oh, thanks,' like a little insulted I think that we were calling her grandma," she told Clarkson.
"And my husband took the picture of the ultrasound out of his pocket and tossed it down on the table and I've never heard a human being make the sound that she made."
However once she cottoned on, the news was very welcomed by the soon-to-be grandma.
"It was like a cry and a scream and exasperation. I was very worried that she was going to have a heart attack. I'm like, 'Kathy, you've got to breathe. It's good news. It's happy news.' She was just so beside herself with excitement."
Moore also showed off her growing baby bump at the People's Choice Awards recently, where she won the Drama TV Star award for This is Us.
Moore, whose is due early next year has spoken of her excitement at sharing the parenting journey with Goldsmith.
In a recent Instagram post marking their two year wedding anniversary, Moore described feeling incredibly fortunate.
"Thank you for your grace, patience, humor, understanding and so much more. There is no one better, Taylor. Oh and I can't wait to meet this baby boy of ours!!," she wrote.
