Chance of BFP with FET

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.,

So imagine you had IVF, you got a BFP, and had some frozen that cycle. You had bub, now you want to go back to have your frozens transferred. Did you have success with the FET's? DH and I are going back for our frozen embies in a couple of months, and I really don't think they will be succesfull. I'm not being negative, (just not getting my hopes up).. plus I'm pretty sure its unlikely to get two bubs from the same batch of eggs. Tell me your thoughts, ta.

We got lucky with a BFP from fresh transfer & quite a few frosties. Took us 5 FETs to get a BFP when TTC our second son & I too was starting to think we were down to the "dregs" & wouldn't have any chance of one sticking. We've now got 2 embies left & planning to use these to TTC number 3 xxxx Goodluck

Didn't happen for us. We went back to the freezer after DS was around 15 months old and have done two failed FET cycles. We had 5 embryos on storage : first transfer I did one grade A 3 day embie, second transfer I did two grade C day 2 embies. Never thought I would have ever transferred two but they were very dodgy looking things.

We have no embryos left over as all were thawed.

Doesn't mean it can't happen, but in my case they were frozen a couple of years ago as day 1 embryos. I think if you have frozen embryos that have gone to 5 day blastocyst stage I think the odds of success would be higher.

Best of luck OP.

Great question. We are in the same boat TTC #2 after DD was born from a FET#2. We have so far had

FET#3 form the first batch - 1 5 day emby transferred - neg

FET #4 from the first batch - 1 5 day emby transferred and 1 emby didn't thaw right - neg

FET #5 from the frist batch - 2 5 day embies transferred and currently in 2WW but very low hopes as no symptoms to date

I am gettinng more and more stressed about this. We have 3 more in the feeezer from our first go but as you gir;s say they are the slowest (still keeping hope for them!)

Also I wonder if there is another problem (with me)

My FS says he thinks it's the embies as if there was a problem with me I wouldn't have had my DD. Do you think this is true. My hormones seem fine but my cycles are quite short since having DD and as US has shown my lining isn't as thick as when we were TTC#1. Still good for the clinic though apparently.

I started off reasonably optimistic with the TTC#2 but as we keep going through the embies and I have had nothing to report not even a chemical or even a single symptom from the cycles, I am starting to worry.

I'm in same situation. First IVF and DD was born sept 13. 7 frosties. This month we had our first FET from this batch and I'm 16dp5dfet and bfn with bloods tomorrow. I'm 41.

In my first (and only) stim cycle I got 5 day 5 embies. The one transferred that cycle didn't take. We then had one frostie transferred and have a two year old from that one. We went back for another this year and had success with frostie number 2 from that first batch. I definitely think having day 5 embies has helped. My clinic boasts a 50% success rate with FET so I know they only freeze good quality embies. May be worth asking your clinic what their FET success rate is.
