Hi everyone,

Mandy, thank you for coming in and sending birthday wishes, I hope that you are OK.

Lovely to hear that some of you are now starting to enjoy first birthdays!

Sares the photos of Patrick's party are wonderful. I had never heard of a "smash cake" before but can see what a great idea it is! I might have to look into that for Alex.

Wingless, sorry to hear of the tough times you have been going through, but it is completely understandable that at this time particularly you might be having difficulties, be kind to yourself and I really hope the counselling works for you. Very glad to hear how happy Zara is, it sounds like she is making real progress despite all the challenges facing her. I hope you had a lovely time on Sunday.

Occbee, likewise I hope you find some help from the counselling.

Forosoco, yay for Jesse starting to crawl! Sounds like he had a great party too.

Helen, sounds like the Bali trip was (overall) great, yay for Isla starting to walk! Poor thing must have been distressed by the mozzie bites though. Hope your pre-birthday party for her was good too.

AFU - we had a lovely time in Singapore, it was very humid though, I think worse than Darwin wet-season weather but maybe just because here during the wet I am not outside much, whereas over there we were walking around in it quite a bit. Alex was fantastic and had lots of new experiences, he is really eating so much now and tucked into all sorts of breakfast foods at the hotel, had chicken curry, spring rolls and various other things for dinners, and even behaved (mainly) well at the couple of dinners we took him to with the other conference delegates. We had him baby-sat on the final night, the first time he'd been with a stranger for baby-sitting and he was great, which was a relief. We went to the zoo, and while I don't think Alex understood too much of it, you could see he was observing the animals, pointing at them excitedly and making his "phwaor" noise which seems to be his way of saying "wow".

We were all a bit tired after the journey home, the flight timing sux, 10.30pm departure from Singapore = 4.30am arrival in Darwin, was 5.30am Monday when we got back into bed and thankfully Alex slept until about 9.30am, then had more sleep in the afternoon. He was still a bit ratty last night, and I think he's missing DH, who left on a three-night fishing trip with a couple of mates yesterday afternoon. Thankfully MIL and FIL are staying with us until Saturday and they are being a big help.

I've set 25th Sept as Alex's birthday party day, his birthday is the 27th but his sister will be away on a school camp then and it needed to be on a weekend anyway. Invitations went out yesterday so now I just have to plan the food etc, will just be an afternoon tea.

Better get back on with some work, as always there is plenty of it for me to do!

Ally

Hello troops - sorry to be MIA, there has been too much going on.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAYS TO ALL THE LITTLE ONES OUT THERE.

I still don't have a lot of time because we have only JUST starting packing and settlement was meant to be today but our docs got stuffed up and it has now been moved to Friday. We have a truck for the best part of Thursday evening/Friday and the kids are in daycare so we have started putting all the loose stuff in the garage and take everything we can around then the removalist can come in on Saturday and take the real big heavy stuff on Saturday. My sister was up on Friday(who I haven't seen for 6yrs and hasn't met my kids before) and we had Isla's 1st birthday party with friends and we chatted and caught up until 2.30am and then it was our first really warm night after winter and I didn't know how to dress Isla and she was awake constantly the rest of the night - I think I got 2 hours sleep so the rest of the weekend was exhausting to say the least then dropping my sis at the airport Monday morning at 5.30am then back to get ready for work  - then all week we have had probs with the docs to this new house and so on and so on.

Lovely to hear what you are all up to.

WA - great to hear from you, have been thinking about you hun. I hope you are coping ok - not long until your DH comes home for a long stint which you will need.

Sares - oh that year has gone fast hasn't it??? glad to hear the party went off well. Patrick is a very lucky little boy. I love smash cakes - are you on facebook?? where are the photos?

Ally - yes I have to agree with you and the heat. People say how on earth do you handle the heat in Cairns?? well we live in a/c, work in a/c and have swimming pools and cars with air con so yes very different story on holiday. We too had a night flight - it killed us. Darwin airport transit lounge killed us in fact! The experience for the little ones travelling out ways all the bad. Glad you enjoyed Singapore.

Forosco Yay to Jesse crawling, well done. Glad the party went well and everyone is happy. Its the first time Isla has had cake too but thats purely because it was a dairy free cake. I got her an elephant that she taps her hand and it blows balls in the air and they roll down into the elephants tummy - she loves it. We have never got much for Yasmin but Yasmin is getting enjoyment out of Isla's toys too. She got a few pressies from friends but not much - they don't need it. Sounds like his party was great.

Occbee - hello, life is so bloody busy I agree.

Well I will be offline until my computer internet is switched on again but I thought I would come in and say hi. Isla just won't sit. she will just stand all the time and try to walk everywhere but still falls on her bum - she has very good balance and Im sure will be walking everywhere in no time.

Isla's 1st birthday is on the 7th of September but Yasmin thinks she has already had it so I will just secretly give her a big kiss and cuddle and say happy birthday to my darling little girl at about 9am which is when I had the c-section and gave birth. Wow where has that year gone. I love 12mths to 2 years old age so bring on the next year - they are so gorgeous especially at this age.

Take care everyone

Helen

OM*G! Guess what Patrick did last night. So he got this for his birthday from a friend

Visit My Website

so last night he was sitting on the floor and he pulls himself up to standing against its nose (the wrong end), this is on the floorboards so he managed to stop it rolling away while he did so. He then walked it across the room! He has never walked before! So we bring it onto the carpet, put him at the right end and split the legs so it is a walker (at the moment he has only ever used it as a rdie on) and he walked it across the room, I turned it around and he walked back! He never let it slide away from him once! We couldn't believe it!!! Maybe he will walk sooner than we thought. He is a funny little thing, its like he just watches and watch and watches and then one day decides, I can do that, and he just does it! crazy!!!

Anywho, that is my proud as punch moment :)

Helen - hope the moving is going OK!

That is so cool Sarah, :excite: for Patrick!

I have a rider/walker thing here we are keeping for Alex for his birthday, so looking forward to him using it.

Helen, likewise hoping the packing & moving is going OK!

Have a good weekend everyone, I am going to be very busy getting everything ready for our big ladies-only fishing comp that is on next week - we have to go out to the camp-site on Thursday, fish Friday & Saturday, big recovery brekky pack up and come home Sunday, looking forward to it although will miss my little man.

Hi everyone - I finally made it back to do personals!

Hope everyone had a lovely Father's Day!

Ally - sounds like you had a lovely time in Singapore, despite the humidity! It must've been very cute watching Alex with the animals.

♥-patricksmum-♥ - oh wow - walking! I'm not showing Ella! We don't have a walker thing though because we have a sunken sunroom, with 3 steps - so I've always worried about them pushing the walker down them. And it looks like Patrick enjoyed his birthday cake! lol.

SL - good luck with the packing! We are still tossing up whether to renovate or move. We just have a small 3 bedroom house and the sunroom is rotting and needs to be replaced. So the question is whether to live through the renos and build an extra bedroom or move. Neither are appealing!

forosco - Jesse's party sounds great - I didn't know fitness first had a playzone - do you have to be a member?

WA - I hope you all had a wonderful time at Zara's party. And definitely hoping the next 12 months are better for us both!

AFU - life continues to be crszy. I have returned to work - just one day a week, but I hate it. I have a new HOD and she is a piece of work! She couldn't lie straight in bed! And with the crap that has happened in the last year I have no tolerance so I have decided to do my dipEd to be a high school science teacher, which I have been toying with the idea for years, and I was thinking of waiting a couple more years, until Ella was older and Riley was at school would be better, but now I figure why wait? My only dilemma is where to study - I am only looking at distance education options but they all have pros and cons and are slightly different. And the one I probably favour (because I'll be qualified the quickest) is at a lesser known institute and so I'm worried about how recognised the qualification will be....

Ella is going ok - she's been sick with a cold, but she seems to be settling in ok at daycare. She still isn't putting on weight, though and I'm a bit worried that she isn't really pointing or waving - Jake was like that and looking back it was probably the first indicator of a couple of his problems - his poor sight and his language problems. But she has been saying Mum mum mum and I'm sure she has said in context, not just babbling, so that makes me quite chuffed :)

The boys have been driving me nuts, but I think that is more me, than them - it was the anniversary of Dad's passing last weekend followed by Father's Day this weekend. I think I'm not going to like the second half of the year - too many sad days. Even deciding to do my teaching qualification makes me a bit sad because Mum was a primary teacher and I would've liked to talk to her about it (although I have over the years - Mum and Dad thought I was crazy for considering high school teaching!)

I haven't really started organising Ella's birthday party, but I will probably start tomorrow. We are going to have it at a nearby park (hopefully the weather will be good!) with just a few family and close friends.

Anyway, although it's late I'm off to vacuum and mop my floors. I know it's crazy but it's now or never!

:excite:HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ISLA for today, hope it is a great day and the moving house has not been too traumatic.

In the last couple of days it has also been the birthdays of little Christopher (CJ) (Mum Mel "SerendipityBaby") and Davey (Mum Lauren "ElleM") both over there in Perth, they are growing into little heart-breakers! Some of you may have seen their photos on Facebook. Lovely Mikayla (Mum Amanda) who arrived so dramatically over in South Australia last year has also turned one - and I know I'm missing others so forgive me but a big happy birthday to all the bubbas who have been hitting the big 1 recently!

Can't stay any longer today, need to keep my head down at work as I'm on leave for my fishing comp tomorrow and Friday. Should be back on Sunday afternoon with a report!

we just got back from our week in hamilton island yesterday. it was a nice relaxing holiday apart from my little disasters... first my waterproof camera broke on the first day. then i dislocated my shoulder. then i got conjunctivitis and both eyes swelled up. but other than that we had fun! jesse loved being away with his whole family and playing with his cousins. he was like a different person, i think he really understood that he was on holidays! he was really good on the plane on the way there and even slept half the way. the plane back wasn't as easy and he was fussing and just wanted to be out of the seat, but it could have been worse. i think his favourite part of the trip was the food - he LOVED the 2 buffet breakfasts we had because he had unlimited food. he eats a LOT! he actually ate so much at the first buffet that he threw up a little bit afterwards. oh well.

the only bad bit of the trip for him was that we discovered that he has a problem with cows milk. he kept throwing up after his milk, so i called the doctor and they told me to take him off it for a while and just give him water and make sure he gets lots of yogurt and cheese instead of milk. tomorrow we're going to give him lactose free milk and see if that makes a difference, and i've also gotten a referral to an allergy specialist who can also help with his eczema. not sure how long it will take to get an appointment but hopefully not too long.

other than that, jesse is crawling around everywhere now and it's becomming impossible to keep him out of the kitchen! but it's so nice to see him chasing his big sister around and they have SO much fun together. as he gets older they play so much more together.

Gee it's been quiet in here, hope everyone out there is OK! Wingless are you alright? You know we all worry about you.

Forosoco that sounds like an eventful holiday, but glad you still had a fun time. I've just started trying to transition Alex to cow's milk, I am going to give him about 2/3rds formula and 1/3rd milk in his bottles at home (first one last night) and progressively change the mix to see how he goes. Will be happy to stop buying formula!

Helen, hope the moving has gone Ok and that you will be back in soon.

Occbee, have you had Ella's party? If so I hope it was a lovely day

Well the last week has just been a blur. This time last Thursday we had just about finished packing up the boat and were ready to head off to our girls-only fishing comp. It was a lovely few days out at our beautiful Corroborree Billabong, and the comp went reallys smoothly, everyone was very happy with the organisation. We struggled a bit with the fishing side of things, the conditions were very nice for camping but not so good for fishing (windy and cool overnight), I managed to catch 2 nice fish (if you are on FB with me you can see my fish) and that placed us 11th out of 30 as a team, and me 9th out of about 100 anglers individually so after some initial feelings of disappointment that we didn't catch more, it was a good result.

Alex was so excited to see me when I got home on Sunday, it was gorgeous but he didn't want me to put him down! Bit hard when you are trying to unpack all the camping and fishing gear. He is climbing all over everything that he can, and this morning when I dropped him off at childcare he started walking around pushing a mini shopping-cart and walked for ages both inside and then outside, he had the biggest grin of pride on his face, I couldn't leave I was so proud watching him and so excited, so I was late for work!

Getting back into work and whipping the house back into shape this week has been a challenge, and I've been quite narky with DH, we had quite a fight last night but thankfully we managed to calm down and talk things through. I've just been charging off in my usual bossy-britches manner, organising everyone and everything without regard to what he thinks or has planned and have then been arcing up when he questions me. I think I've been taking him a bit for granted, and I know that my first focus is so much on Alex. I get subconsciously quite anxious about Alex and all aspects of parenting both him and my step-kids, and I've forgotten a bit about DH. So I'm determined now to be kinder and nicer to him, more collaborative and less bossy.

Ok enough carry on from me, hope to hear from all of you soon and hope you and your bubs are well,

Ally

Hi girls

just popped in to say hello quickly - life is just mad mad mad lately and I feel like im just going in circles and just don't have enough time sometimes. To top things off my hubby dropped our laptop and has damaged the hard drive then we purchased a new hard drive from Dell and opened the box to find it not in there so they are investigating it at our cost - not happy. I told them I wanted a replacement and so far haven't heard dicky boo from them.

Then I've been sick for over a week with a dreaded flu which just gripped me and Isla had also been sick and I thought she gave it to me but then she came down even harder with something 3 days ago and has been waking crying the last few nights which is very unlike her so took her to the docs yesterday and she has broncholitis and a bad ear infection - he said her ear was so inflamed and bright red the poor thing. One shot of abs and she slept 3.5hrs yesterday arvo and its 6.45am and she is still sleeping from 6pm last night which is my 'normal' little girl but she would normally be stirring by now so she is exhausted.

Isla is just walking everywhere lol - she is in her element toddling around everywhere. Its so cute to watch. You come out of a room and you see this little munchkin just toddling around out the corner of your eye, so funny to see as we didn't experience this with Yasmin due to her toe walking and she didn't walk until 18mths either so she was a lot older.

apart from that how is everyone - I agree with Ally its very quiet in here, how is everyone doing???

Ally I too have had my fair share of fighting with DH and its always arguments over the kids - I can see how people break up once kids come along - its very stressful and really needs a lot of work on the relationship I think - I know I too am all too consumed with the kids sometimes that DH gets left out and my oldest is such a mummys girl and only wants mummy to do things for her which adds to it. Glad you are talking it through though.

Ok we have a loan laptop until ours gets sorted so will touch base here and there.

Yes WA I hope you are ok too - I am often thinking about you and wish I had your mobile number to check in.

take care

Helen & Isla

Welcome Bunbury Mum - is your little one a boy or a girl? The year certainly has flown by very fast. My little son Alex is turning one next Tuesday but we are having his party this Sunday, I have been really slack with planning and just started thinking about it properly yesterday.

I think I am going to make a couple of slabs of cake and cut them into a "1", and try and do a bit of nice icing with his name, just something simple. If you look back through for posts from Patricks Mum you will see that she set the bar very high with an amazing "Very Hungry Caterpillar" cake and lots of other scrummy things!!

Occbee - sending lots of happy birthday wishes to Ella for today!!

Helen, saw your posts on FB about how ill you have all been, there seems to have been a lot of horrible gastro around this year, we've been hit several times but thankfully Alex has never had it badly, so hope your girls get over it soon.

sorry guys, I have been so slack, just seems like every day is non stop!

Happy Birthday Ella!!!!!

welcome Bunbury Mum! Tell us about your little bubby! :)

Ally - when it comes to number 1 cakes I don;t think you can beat the old womens weekly ONE. Yellow icing and covered in perfectly aligned smarties. Looks so awesome! Or the one where they put a photo on the cake and then cover all around it and the sides in mixed lollies!! Yum!!

Helen - hows the new house going?

So we are off to the audiologist again next month to get Pats hearing checked. The MCHN agreed there was something not right, all his development chacks in regards to speech and hearing only got a 2 whereas everything else was 5 so something is going on, of course MIL just keeps saying I am overreacting and he is just being a boy with selective hearing. Whatever!!!!

I was so sad this morning, I had the best dream last night that I went to the dr for I don't know what but I was seeing my OB so it mustve been a gyno thing and he did an ultrasound and was like, well there is no need to do this now because you are pregnant. I couldn't believe it and I was so happy and DH nearly died and mum was crying and then...I woke up  why can't it be easy like that. Why do I have to find $10K to do IVF. I want another baby so much, i thought it would be easier once I had one but I think it is harder because now I know how amazing it is I want more. Maybe next year

OK, enough of my whining

better do some work!

Hey Sarah, you've just given me the best idea - Smarties! Our surname is Smart, and we always refer to ourselves as Smarties when we have to name a fishing team or something, so I will have no choice but to use them, I hadn't even thought of it! Dhuh!

Hope Patrick's testing turns up some answers for you, you know him best and fair enough to want to get it resolved. Hopefully it will be something that is easily dealt with.

:bighug: to you re the baby dream, I can't imagine what it must be like to have to go through the hurdles you have, I often think I wish I could do something to help someone like you but at nearly 42 I think I'm way past being of much use to anyone fertility-wise - Alex was my one shot in the locker! Pat will benefit from all your love and attention, don't forget that.

Hi girls

Ally yes we have all be so severely sick on top of sick - it just hasn't stopped, thanks for thinking of us. I am work today DH had to take yesterday off to look after all of us but poor Isla is still throwing up a bit today but is on the mend I think????

So happy birthday to all the bubs who have turned 1 - Happy Birthday today to Alex and Happy Birthday Ella xxxxx - and sorry anyone else I have missed.

Sarah :bighug: I don't know what it must be like for you either but I did have a hard time miscarrying 7 babies so went through my own struggles but I don't still know what is worse - its all bad when people face hardships getting the little precious bundles. Im like Ally I wish I could help people like you too but with my own bad history of miscarriage my eggs aren't the best now I am turning 43 next week so I can't even consider it - I've been very lucky and I hope you are too.

As for our house lol not had time to enjoy it much - we've been sick ever since being in there (well Isla has) - its horrible time of year for sicknesses and my poor little bub has just been lifeless and sometimes just finding a cushion and putting her head on it and laying on the floor  or just laying lifeless on me then spewing all over me!!!

Anyway just a short little msg to say hi and hope everyone else is well. Better get back to work in case Isla is just not right to go to daycare tomorrow

Thanks for Ella's birthday wishes. She had a lovely day, despite being covered in blisters from hand foot and mouth disease. Luckily she didn't get too many in her mouth, but she had heaps on her hands and feet. The Dr even said - "Wow, that's the worst I've ever seen - I've seen them like that in textbooks, but not in real life"....it's not really what you want to hear your Dr say about your child. But she's been pretty good. The only other issue is that I had her weighed while we were there and she had lost 200g :-( so now I'm getting a bit worried about her - she had been sitting on 8.5kg for a couple of months. She's not very good at eating and particularly not with lumps, but I'm just going to concentrate on getting purees into her until she's put on some weight.

We are having a party for Ella tomorrow. It has been lovely weather this week and we had organised the party to be at a park, but there's been a change come through and now it's predicting rain. So I really shouldn't be on here - I should be cleaning my house! I made a ladybird cake for Ella and it looks ok, but far from perfect but I just love how excited my boys get - they make me not care. Both of them, at different times came and had a sneak peak and went "oh wow. That looks fantastic Mum". I don't care what anyone else thinks, because they think it's great - they make me smile.

SL - hope your all better soon. It's been a really bad year for illnesses - so many people seem to have had soo many.

Sares - I don't have any words to say, but just enjoy your lil man for now. There is nothing like your firstborn. You never get to savour the moments once more babies arrive. Life just becomes too busy.

Ally - I like your idea bout smarties for Alex's cake- i think it's great!

WA - hope your going ok. I think of you often.

Bunbury_mum - welcome! I can't believe our babies are 1 either. Seriously, where has the year gone????

forosco - hope you get jesse's milk problem sorted.

OMG this is soooooo true - I treasure the moments now that I had with Yasmin - Isla just gets no where near that attention from us. I wish someone had told me this a the time - I was smitten with her and thought she would be our only child but wow that time I had one on one with her was precious.

Occbee enjoy your party and your boys sound beautiful - thats what kids are for to make us realise that its the simple things that matter.

Having a hard time with my 3 year old at the moment - well she is nearly 3.5 and man she is a right little so and so

better go here comes Isla

well we got jesse's milk problem sorted, he's not allergic to anything and was just eating and drinking too much and making himself sick! i saw a paediatric dietician yesterday who said it's time to take away the bottle completely and just give him 1 cup of milk per day in a sippy cup or straw cup or something, because he's getting enough calcium from his food and he shouldn't be having 3 full bottles of milk a day. the problem with that was that he refused to drink out of a sippy cup or straw, but we decided to just go for it and take the bottles away and see what happened. well little greedy guts jesse quickly realised that the only way to get his milk would be to learn how to use a straw, and this morning he figured it out! so now he's drinking very nicely from a straw and it's a huge relief for us.

i've got a horrible flu at the moment and just can't shake it. so i've given DH instructions to not let me get out of my pyjamas all day today and not let me leave the house at all. and he made me eat breakfast this morning too. but he's acting SO grumpy at the fact that he's tired and has to do everything. well bad luck, what does he think i do during the week?? it really gets to me that he acts so grumpy all the time, but when i ask what's wrong he claims he's not being grumpy. walking around silently sulking all day is grumpy in my book.

We didn't get too many photos. But had a lovely afternoon, despite having to move it to our place, from the park, because of the weather. Jake discovered what it truly means to make himself sick on too much junkfood. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson.

Occbee fantastic cake glad it went well

Forosco glad you got to the bottom of it. I took away bottles from Yas as soon as she was 12mths too - she ate so well and ate a lot of cheese and yoghurt and also smoothies and took to other drinking cups well. wish I could do it with Isla too as I really hate bottles and she loves other drinking bottles too as she is always taking her sisters but unfortunately with her dairy intolerance her Neocate is the only form of calcium she is getting I suppose. Have an appt with her paediatrician on Thursday and find out what he thinks as she is really only drinking maybe 300mls a day sometimes but not sure if its because she has been sick so will assess it this week as today she as just got her appetite back. He may say that she really should stick to her bottles because of her dairy/soy intolerance.

Anyway its very late and my 3 yr old will not go to bed, very frustrated with her the last month grrrrrrrrrrr

goodnight

Helen

thanks guys, I'm OK now, was just having a bit of a sad sack day. I think it stemmed a bit from the tiny little seed being planted in my mind that whilst highly unlikely it is possible that my ovaries may have started working again. I got a period whilst not having used my pill patch for almost 2 months (I use patches instead of taking the pill). I have never ever ever got a period without being on HRT! My dr thought it was highly unlikely but I could get a bloodtest to see whats happening if I wanted to, but I have been too scared to get it done and have that little bit of hope squashed. I think I am going to do it now because now, although it is 6 weeks after the last one, it is starting again! I am so scared of finding out for sure that no they are still not working. So anywho it must have seeped into my dreams but I'm OK now, Pat just has to endure the extra kisses I am smothering on him

Ally - awesome! Make sure you post a pic!!!

Helen - hope Isla is feeling better :(

Occbee - poor Ella. Hand, Foot & Mouth sucks! :( Glad she is feeling better and had a nice party. Awesome cake!!! Oh, and that photo is just gorgeous!!! :)

Foro - great news!!! Maybe we should try that with Pat. He isn;t really using the bottles to go to sleep anymore, he is usually awake still, and he rarely finishes them during the day anyway, often only drinking half or even 50ml. Maybe cold turkey is the key. Hope you feel better soon.

OK, better get back to work!

Hi everyone,

Just quickly coming in to report on Alex's birthday party, we had it yesterday and it was really good, I was having a bit of a panic about the cakes on Saturday because the icing just wasn't working the way I'd planned but with mum's help we managed to fix it and it was all good. Alex had fun with some of his little friends and it was just a nice (but hot) afternoon on our back verandah.

Here's the link to some photos on Facebook, hope you can all see them http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2...b3bf&type=1

The other big news is that Alex has officially taken his first steps and my mum and dad were here to see it which was so great - I actually missed seeing it though! I've seen him take one more little step since he first did it on Saturday. And he's doing lots of standing up without holding on to anything, he thinks he's so clever, getting up onto his feet then squatting down and standing back up again, he was just beaming last night when he was doing it.

Oh and I should also mention that my eldest step-son Jordan did a great job co-captaining his cricket team to a grand final win on Saturday, woo hoo!

Occbee that cake looks fantastic, and Ella is gorgeous!

Sares, you can never give too many kisses, I know one day our boys probably won't want their mum's kisses so get plenty in now!

Forosoco that's interesting about the milk, makes me wonder whether I should be reducing what Alex has a bit, he is now on mainly cow's milk (just using up the last little bit of formula as well), but he's having about 500mls per day, which sounds like it might be a bit much then. Hope you get to rest up and get over that horrible flu.

And a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Helen (Summerlover) for today!! :excite:

Ally

Bumpitty-bump - how are you all? Hope everyone is OK and just partied-out.

I think all the little ones in this group have now turned 1? Wow how fast that time has gone.

We are off for our first whole-family overnight fishing trip on our big boat tomorrow, even DSD is keen to come which is a major breakthrough of her fear of being out on the water.

Have great weekends everyone, and for those of you who are footy fans, hope your team wins - GO THE MIGHTY MANLY SEA-EAGLES!!!

Ally

Just popping in to say Hi. Very quiet in here atm. We are all good, except for the kids all having conjunctivitis, which is being a pain to get rid of! DH has gone off to Bathurst for the V8s, so I'm on my own with the kids for a few days - should be interesting. Hope I don't kill anyone...lol. It's 1yr this weekend since Mum died so I'm feeling a bit fragile. TBH, I can't believe he's gone away this weekend and spoke to him about it, but because her "official" date of passing is 11th (Tuesday) he doesn't see a problem. But the thing is - it was the day of the Bathurst race last year that I had to call him back because she wasn't well. I spent the day with her, but left when my brother got there. She passed just on midnight. So really, for me, the day I think I will be sad is Sunday. I think he is just trying to make himself feel better.

Mum and Dad's house has sold, but the buyers keep extending the cooling off period because thye haven't got their finance sorted. It was meant to finish on Wednesday, but they have extended it until next Tuesday. Bit frustrating but nothing we can do about it.

Ella's still not gaining weight, but she is such a happy little thing. She's finally worked out cruising along the furniture. So I guess walking won't be that far away. She's not really saying any words - still just babbling, and doesn't point, so I'm not sure if I should be worried. She is very affectionate though and has started giving real hugs with wrapping her arms around our necks. It's very cute.

Ally - hope you all had a great fishing trip.

Hope everyone's well.

Hi all,

Ally - great party!!! cakes look great and Alex looked like he had a nice time :) And walking!!! OMG!!! Go Alex!!! Patrick has had a few points of standing by himself but nothing more than a couple of seconds. How was the fishing trip?

Occbee - :bighug: to you on your mums anniversary. Sometimes guys just don't get it. :(

AFU - well some tentative good news, trying not to get my hopes up too much but after 14 years of having premature ovarian failure it seems I have had some sponateous ovarian function. My Dr has never seen this before (here is a little thread I had posted when I was getting tested http://www.essentialbaby.com.au/forums/ind...owtopic=927334) so I am doing OPK's this month to see if I actually am ovulating and if so it will be an absolute miracle because we should be able to get pregnant naturally!!! I just can't believe it! I have wished and prayed for this since I was 14! Other than that not much is happening, Pat is still cranky for no obvious reason. He has been a bit constipated and is now having colloxyl drops (he started screaming while doing a poo the other morning poor baby) any recommendations to help him with this?

speak soon
