Thanks Lara. My little chubby princess is going great guns.

 She has been cruising around since about 10mths. Zooms around in the walker and crawls everywhere. Loves playing with Jack even though he gets quite jealous of her sometimes and gets a whack in the head or pushed over.

We are thinking she might take off walking by one like Jack did as she walks around when we hold her hands.

Her fourth tooth (top one) is just coming through. I have her her first haircut last week, just a little fringe trim.

She is a very happy, content baby (almost toddler) The year has gone so fast though. I have really enjoyed the past year. Have taken in so much more. She is just an absolute joy. I know, I am gushing

She is a real mummy's girl but lights up when DH comes home from work and he is besotted by her as he is with Jack.

She is also very chatty - as most girls are -lol.

Our family feels complete (though maybe a puppy later down the track  , the cat will have to do for now)

We are planning a 1st birthday party for her, family and mums group and a few extra friends similar to what we had with Jack.

Jack and Olivia are dropped off twice a week at daycare. She's in the toddler room and he's in the kinder. Although she loves Jack, I think she likes him not being in her face so much. She doesnt like too many others around her either, just a few at a time (and her fave blanket -lol)takes it everywhere.

Since the ferals next door were taken away by the cops a few weeks ago, it is so much more relaxed here. shame they stressed us out for a year while I have been on leave.

We arent in so much of a hurry to look for a house anymore. Think we might stay put for a bit longer and just look til we find the right place for the right price.

I originally wanted to wait another 5 years and then move to bigger house as we needed the room but we are fine while they are little. The market seems artificially inflated at the moment cos of the grants anyway. And we me not in a job, probably just as well we hadnt bought a house over the last few months.

On the work front, ex bosses would have received letters from Ind Relations and workplace Ombudsman so I guess I just wait and see what happens next.

Anyway, might tear myself away from the comp and try to have an early night.

Nite all,

Susie :)

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY TO REEVE AND KIRSTEN

Hope you have a terrific day

Cass, Jasper looks snug as a bug in his suit.

I loved going to the snow as a kid. We used to go to Lake Mountain and go tobogganning. It was only a few hours away from us and great fun. Must take Jack and Olivia some time too. I'm sure they would love it.

Tahlia is sick again. She woke vomitting at 3am. I have been up since then, so much fun. Seems it has stopped for now, been over 2 hours since her last spew. So i guess its going to do the rounds again. Did we not just go through this 2 weeks ago???

Happy Birthday Reeve and Kirsten!

I hope today was a happy one for your family HB. How's Jordan holding up?

Susie: Olivia is so cute. It sounds like she and Isla are up to the same stage. Isla is cruising too though sometimes she thinks she can walk and charges off only to fall flat on her face.

Cass: I can see them both. Isla has one of those exact same suits as Jasper (handed down from Ned). Luckily it hasn't gotten cold enough in Sydney for it yet :)

Isla was up every 15 mins last night. I was at the end of my tether with her. Poor thing has a cold and her second tooth at the top has just broken through so I think she was in pain. I did give her panadol but it didn't seem to help all that much. I hope we don't have another night like that tonight.

Better go cook dinner

Happy Birthday to Reeve and Kirsten. :D

Happy Belated Birthday to Lily....

And a very Happy Birthday to all the other little 3 year olds I have missed recently. I had/have every intention of checking my list and naming you all as I have always prided myself in doing each year. But lately it has been very hard to get near the computer at all.

I'm a bit numb from this weekend, a shocker to put it mildly. Friday morning we got a message that a friend had passed away from skin cancer on the Thursday night leaving behind a beautiful 2.5yo boy. We had her funeral today. We had known earlier in the week that her passing would not be far away.

Then Friday night the 7.30pm feed for the girls I decided I'd give them a formula feed (only their 3rd since coming home from hospital) to give me a break and try and get ahead with my expressing. Then Georgia was breaking out in a red rash all over, initially under her mouth on her chin then all over within seconds / minutes. By the time we were at the car trying to bundle all the kids in, I could hear her breathing getting noisy in her throat. Morgan also was starting to welt. Next thing, I've called 000 telling them we have 4 month old twins having an allergic reaction and then 5 or so mintues later we're in two separate ambulances taking both girls to the emergency department. I get stretchered in with Georgia (her ears swelled horrendously and her whole body was covered in welts) on my lap to a double cubicle with about 8 or so doctors and nurses with a baby resus unit.

Georgia ended up having 2 shots of adrenlin, some other steroids put thru a canula in her arm and also something thru a nebuliser. It's only now that I think about it I realise how bad it must have been and it frightens me - I put all my trust in the doctors and they were amazing. Morgan's reaction was much much milder and didn't go past welting, she was monitored but spent most of the time in my DH's arms thankfully. We got to the hospital about 8pm and were in the emergency room until about 2am.

Georgia was admitted to be watched overnight (what was left of it), and because I breastfeed, Morgan was too as "a boarder". Because there are two DH and I were both allowed to stay with them, my mum came and picked up Caden who was running amuck in the Emergency department oblivious that anything was wrong.

So rather scarily I have found out my poor girls have a cows milk protein allergy. It's to be confirmed but the reaction was instant and even though they have had some formula before the doctors said the previous few bottles primed them for this reaction. I had also put Infacol in the bottles too, and it was the first time they had had this as well, but the doctors pretty much ruled that out.

So now a lot of things are making sense to us. Early on we thought the girls had a touch of reflux but had recently decided it was more like colic. But it has been getting gradually worse to the point where they have lots of wind and vomitting all day where it just disrupts their sleep and they can't sleep longer than one 45min cycle during the day. They still sleep well during the night and their weight gain had been fine but has just dropped below the 100g/week mark.

So we are thinking that even the cow's milk I digest has been upsetting their stomachs. A few weeks back I had suspected it might be that as I had been hitting milk pretty hard and it was the only thing in my diet that I was having a lot of, so I had cut back a bit. Now I'm trying not to have any and hoping the girls improve a bit.

We are waiting on the hospital to get back to us about the paed allergy specialist. As even though it may take a while to get into see them, we need to get an epipen for Georgia but she is only 5kg and the dose is designed for children at least 15kg. They also did a test on both Georgia & Morgan on Saturday morning to see if they could handle a prescription formula (Pepti Junior). They can and we now have a prescription for it, but both wouldn't take it at all - Morgan was due a feed and still would touch it. So for now it's just me feeding them and I can see that it is still giving them tummy problems however they do seem to be improving ever so slightly. I also think it will take a few days for Georgia to totally recover after the drugs.

Well sorry to drop all this on you guys, but I needed to get it out. At home I started to lose it and get hysterical initially wondering what the hell was happening but then I could see it was upsetting Georgia, so I stopped myself and from then on I was fine even at hospital - I wouldn't say I was calm, but I wasn't a crying hysterical mess.

Shaz, sorry to hear that the girls and the rest of you went thru such an ordeal. That would have been so scary.

Very glad that they will be okay.

Is that an allergy that they will always have or is it something that eventually passes? I wouldnt have thought that either considering they had it before.

I am allergic to penicillin but my mum said I had it a few times before I was 4yrs old and then developed the allergy, sort of like it built up in my system.

Shaz how petrifying. It sounds like your hospital is great, and now that you have found out, perhaps their stomachs will settle over time. Try to take care of yourself too. How hard is parenthood, when you can't even let yourself go in a crisis. Sounds like you did everything right.

and Happy Birthday to Kirstie and Reeve!

I am still amazed that all our little babies are turning 3.

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY TO AMELIE AND TYLER

Shaz - your post made my hairs stand on end. That can't imagine how frightening that would be. Angus had some kind of reaction the other week and he had hives all under his chin and that was scarey enough. Sorry to hear about your friend as well.

Susie - lovely to hear all about miss Olivia. Angus is so lazy. He just sits and tries to crawl but can't quite manage it.

:no:Shaz what an awful ordeal for your family to go through, I can only imagine how stressful the situation would have been.

I am also sorry to hear about your friend passing away over the weekend.

Thinking of you and hoping there are no more scares for you before the girls get to see the specialist.
