Articles

Ecstatic Birth: The Hormonal Blueprint of Labor

-by Sarah J. Buckley

http://www.mothering.com/articles/pregnanc...n/ecstatic.html

Books(brief overviews by Meelk unless stated)

The VBAC Companion: The Expectant Mothers Guide to Vaginal Birth After Caesarean'

-by D Kortes.

A good book to start with if you are considering VBAC.

Silent Knife

-by N Wainer Cohen & L Estner.

Pretty extreme but very interesting.

Understanding and Teaching Optimal Foetal Positioning

-by J Sutton & P Scott.

This should be a must for every pregnant woman.

Spiritual Midwifery

-by I M Gaskin.

Not particularly VBAC but makes you realise what women can do in an informed and supportive environment.

The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth

-by H Goer. Another essential for all pregnant women.

Mind Over Labour

-by C Jones.

A good introduction to relaxation and visualisation to help you through pregnancy and labour.

Better Birthing with Hypnosis'

-by M LeClair.

More advanced than 'Mind Over Labour' if you think hypnobirthing could be for you.

Birthing from Within'

-by P England.

Not specifically for VBACs but she does talk about it and had a VBAC herself. Focusses a lot on dealing with emotional baggage in preparation for birth.

Misconceptions'

-by Naomi Wolfe.

An interesting look at the gender politics in childbirth, interwoven with her story of c/sec, but doesn't go into the politics of VBAC as the USA is a bit behind us in that respect. (Review by 'peanutsmum).
