"Hooter Hider" & pattern & plastic bit

Recommended Posts

has anyone made a "hooter hider"? see link below

http://shop.bebeaulait.com/shop/bbalnc

I have had a look at one 9as a friend had one) and it loots so easy to make, it's just a flat sheet of fabric with a strap/hook. However it has a piece of plastic in it that is curved (so you can look down and see baby), they cost a fortune (even on ebay - as postage is huge from the USA), so i thought I would make one, but would need to get the plastic curved bit. Any ideas?

Thanks

Leora

Such a pretty website... and what a terrible product name

I've no useful ideas on the plastic bit... except maybe a plastic sunvisor type hat???? just a thought :)

edited for spelling!

Mum 2 Monkey Boys

There is a product called Shapewell (sp?) that is used in bag making to give the bags structure that might be what you are after, not sure where you can get it from, maybe try a local quilt shop.

One of the ladies that make bags might be able to help you.

I agree PP with the name, you can tell it is an American product.
