IF YOU HAVE HAD CANCER THEN BE LOUD AND BE PROUD AND FLY THE FLAG! Join us for the Survivors Walk and wave your Survivors Flag on Daffodil Day Friday 22 August to show that cancer can be beaten and give hope to others for a cancer free future. In celebration of the Cancer Council WA’s 50th Anniversary, we want to show Western Australians how far we have come and how cancer survival rates have increased. When the Cancer Council started 50 years ago the chance of surviving cancer was 30 to 40%. Today, it’s an incredible 90% in early diagnosed breast and prostate cancers and melanoma. And the overall five-year survival rate for all cancers is now around 60 per cent! This is a phenomenal increase which we want to acknowledge by having as many survivors as possible to join us for the Survivor’s Walk. Your walk is short – just a city block. It will start at Central Park, Perth, at 12.00 pm, on Friday 22 August 2008 and finishes in the Murray Street Mall. There is no registration fee! There is no fundraising! There is just celebration! Our aim is high – 1,000 cancer survivors, young and old – and don’t forget, carers are survivors too. If you are a cancer survivor please join us. If you have cared for someone with cancer join us. If you know a cancer survivor or carer, encourage them to be part of this amazing walk. Whether it is someone newly diagnosed or someone who has survived for many years, a loved one, a friend or a colleague - please spread the word.

For further information please contact the Fundraising Hotline No: 1300 65 65 85 Email: survivors@cancerwa.asn.au Website: www.cancerwa.asn.au

If anyone would like the flyer and registration form please PM your email addy and I will forward it to you.

I think we will try and join this event.
