Just read these in another topic and thought Id post them.

These are from A Juggling mum (Rachel)

YOU SAY: Are these all yours?

I SAY: Yes we collect them!

YOU SAY: They all look alike!

I SAY: Yes we use a home cloning kit!

YOU SAY: You finally got a boy!

I SAY: No he's a girl, we just dress her in blue!

YOU SAY: That boy doesn't have a chance with all those sisters!

I SAY: No chance to play alone

YOU SAY: You must have the patience of a saint!

I SAY: We are just tired - If that's patience... ok!

YOU SAY: Your kids are so well behaved!

I SAY: Great, can they come and play at your house?

YOU SAY: Are you going to have anymore?

I SAY: Would you believe us if we said no?

YOU SAY: You really have your hands full!

I SAY: Yep our hands and our hearts.

Rachel some of these just made me laugh so much, and I will be using some of them in the future, if you have any more please post them!

Take care

Hi,

Here are some more.

Before you even ask...

We didn't plan the first few; why start now.

No, this is not some sort of daycare; its 24/7

We had planned on two; my spouse just can't count.

Yes we're heard of birth control; no birth and no control

Why should we fix it if its not broke

Are we done? We're just getting started.

I had another one today - but I couldn't think on the spot at all!

He said "You have 3 girls??"

DH said "Yes - and a boy"

He said "I have a cheap TV that you could have . . ."

we say ????????????

I'm not very good with comebacks I'm afraid . . . *sigh*

Kaohmie,

Your reply should be:

"Thanks, but we have one and it doesn't get used very much, we are enjoying our children"

Sonya

P.S. Ones I have been given on the subject of another child:

Why have another one when DD is 8?

Because I only succeeded once. Tried two more times but failed and I will not give up.

You have 3 children, that is enough.

Says you, my heart isn't full yet and the cats even know it.

On the subject of being a stepmother:

You are a saint to take on someone else's children.

No I am just determined to have a large brood.

On staying home:

You need to go back to work to feed these kids.

No I need to stay home to nurture their personalities so they don't grow up to be as ignorant and self-centred as you.

You should have said "What makes you think we'd rather watch TV?"

or another one I've read is "If you'd rather watch TV than make love, you're not doing IT right"

Take care

Having 4 girls I am always asked "are you going to try for a boy". I usually answer "I did twice". Noone has been game with a comeback for that one yet.

I got a really negative comment from someone recently that I had no immediate comeback for because I was in shock that someone could be so rude. An old lady with her pigeon pair grandkids at the beach asked "are they all girls" and I said yes (it was bloody obvious!) and she said "never mind". I usually say "yes, I love girls and would love another one". But I was annoyed at her "never mind" comment like I was missing out on something. GRRR

I love these you girls are so clever. I'm not sure I would be game to use any although I was almost bowled over when our priest asked if we had a tv. I just couldn't see myself using the comment "What would you rather be doing?" ROFLOL just didn't seem fitting.

As for tv's anyway I hate them, would much rather being doing anything and I can't watch it without doing something else at the same time whether it be scrapbooking, reading a mag or something else and besides which my sometimes hard to work out dh through our couch away about six weeks ago when we had the footpath collection and is still (taking forever) painting the lounge so theres nothing to sit on except the coffee table or the floor. He's painting right this second (must keep encouraging him lol) so maybe one day he'll get us another couch and I might think about watching some tv although I think I'd rather visit EB.

Lynnie - before we had DD last July we were an all boy family (4 of them) so I always would say to "we are specialising in boys and not diversifying into girls" - reverse it and you have your comeback! Or you could simply say "why mess with perfection!" :-)

Now people say 'you have your girl you can STOP now' so we merely tell them 'we are on girl mode now and plan on evening up the numbers' LOL That's always gets some shocked looks.

The classic line was from my Dad. We were sitting down having dinner and the subject of organ donation came up. My Dad, who normally would never ever say anything like this, said 'well your reproductive organs would probably be in high demand seeing as they work so well" LOL It was all in good humour. He has also been known to pipe up when someone asks me we are having anymore. He points out to them that once we fill up the Tarago we will start working on the Corolla LOL

Mum2five, I like those comebacks!! I also love your father's sense of humour!! LOL. My Dad had 3 kids with my Mum (me and two boys) and then remarried and had 2 more boys, he said I still have to have one to catch up to him. And my aunty who has one boy and 5 girls told me I only have one of each to catch up to her LOL.

I have used the line "we got it right 4 times, why would we want a boy?" that can shock some people!! :)

I like your "evening up the numbers" comment LOL :)

I like something mumtosix told me the other day, she was shopping and had her 6 with her and some lady asked if they were all hers, and she said, "yes but I left the other 4 at home":D

Just had too add I used that line again too some very twitty women (whom I see drinking out the from of their house everytime I walk past).

The laughed and said "are the all yours?"

I said "yes"

They said "Dontcha have a TV love"

I said "(laughing) YES! But what would YOU rather be doing?"

My 9 yr old DD said Mum I cant believe you said that I said well that was a very rude statement they said, she said goo on you mum!

My favourite for those (usually women) who say things like "What on earth possessed you to keep on having so many children?" is to reply "We're going to keep having them until we get one we like"... :D Shuts them up every time.

You ladies are just wonderful and I love these comebacks!!! I agree this is a great forum!!

I am only 3/4 of the way with number 4 and I have found out that I will likely not be able to have anymore children due to pregnancy complications, I find this very sad and when I mention it to good friends/family I am getting the whole

"oh my God you were not going to have anymore were you",

"have you not had enough",

"why would you be sad",

"I think your body is giving you a big hint to stop" and the whole

"oh you weren't were you" and the latest now we know the gender is

"oh you got 2 girls and then 2 boys, why ruin it"

WHAT THE???????????

I have to find some comebacks to that ... any ideas??. I really do not want to hide that fact that I wanted more and do not see why I should have to!!

Now i jsut have to be game enough to use some of these!!!

Anyone got a come back for this..."you shouldnt have that many kids if you cant control them" This was in the middle of Miss 2 year old having a 2 year old tanty and Miss 3 feeling left out so she joined in!!!

Couldnt think of anything to say (it was evil SIL who said it) but i think i burnt a hole in her with look i gave her.

Hey I think I would say something like,

"You should learn too control your mouth"

OR (probably a bit nicer)

"You should learn not too stick your nose in where its not wanted"
