I’m nervous too many people will do the wrong thing too. Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile so to speak. We’ve come so far and sacrificed so much for it to only then go pear shaped. Hopefully not though. And I have no problem in dobbing  in neighbours or groups of people doing the wrong thing when they’re socialising from numerous households. It’s not fair for the rest of us who’ve been following the orders for them to Just do what they like.

Just had to claim my first ever EB medal!

Today was actually huge for us - but conscious that for many others the announcements weren't hugely meaningful. For us

- grade 4 going back sooner than expected

- not needing to think through if we might run out of milk today (or similar) and be organised about shopping

- no more curfew so DH can resume late night walks

Are all pretty huge.

hugs to those who didn't see the outcomes they wanted.

I think the people in charge are concerned about this too hence the increased fines.

$5000 is enough to make most think twice.

Yes I’m happy the fine is massive! Hopefully will be enough to make those people avoid potential gatherings.

There’s nobody to dob in around here 😂 All is quiet on the home front.

I share your concerns. And also feel that the numbers haven't really fallen significantly in the last week, which does worry me.

However, I do trust that the modelling is being interpreted and reinterpreted by people far more qualified than me.

Remote Learning for a week. Kinder goes back on the first week only.

I think I heard the deputy CHO say that numbers are falling about 30% each week. So it will start to feel slower for things to drop. We seem to get spikes in weird places through the weeks now too. I’m happy about our progress.

Today is a big change for us. School being back- I think we’ll have a difficult couple of weeks but it means really good things in the long term. The kids are going to need the term to feel more settled so that next year, God willing, they can hit the ground running.

I am hoping this will mean late night supermarket shopping as it means I can go when the kids are down.

Also I broke my ankle and sprained both ankles in March, and I’ve been in a lot of pain still. This will mean physio. I’m excited about the possibility of less pain.

And I can get someone in to remove some troublesome trees.

Happy days.

OK, thanks.

Should be enough time for Schools to get organised.

The good news today was that 15/16 cases were immediately able to be linked to other new cases.

Also hidden in today's CHO media release, it says that there are no cases under investigation!

Cause the numbers are so low, they will bounce around, but fingers crossed for lower.

My prediction 9 cases tomorrow, but low test numbers, due to the atrocious weather on friday

Yeah stupid remote learning for the first week. Suspect our capacity to enforce that will be MINIMAL.

Ugh, nothing changes for my household except that whole families will be shopping at the supermarket again which is not something us retail workers enjoy.

How could you ever enforce it? We did close to zero remote learning.

Other shoppers also aren’t keen on young kids in the shops either (side eye to the dad letting his kids run barefoot at coles this afternoon).

First patch we were absolutely ruthless. Anything not done one day got rolled over to the next. Some things were done weeks later, but we completed the lot.

Second time, we just focused on reading, handwriting, maths. And not always all of it! Specialists when it suited us (she loved art, and rather liked French, so that was fine).

This bonus week apparently includes some one-on-one assessment so we’ll definitely get that bit done but anything else... meh.

I've been watching the cases under invesrigation super super closely as I feel so much hinges on it.

I think you may have misunderstood - pretty sure that sentence in the press release is talking about whether they are metro, regional or interstate cases.  So for today's cases they know where they all are geographically.

In the DHHS data dashboard there are lots of graphs that, once they load, still show 21 cases under investigation as of Sep 26.  This data is also shown on the Covidlive site.

I posted yesterday that this worried me as I thought the number should be a lot lower as case numbers are getting so low.
