So where does one buy a wall clock from that doesn’t look like it belongs in a hospital, office or a museum?

I forgot all about ikea.

I’m after a wall clock for the kitchen, something easy to read so we know we are on track for getting out the door of a morning.

Great thread. I'm just about to look for one too as the one I had broke!

ETA: I like this, but would need it with the actual numbers for the kids https://www.bedbathntable.com.au/homewares/decorative-accessories/natural-wooden-clock-natural-17069301

ETA 2: Just found this site https://www.ohclocks.com.au/collections/wall-clocks?gclid=CjwKCAjwkoz7BRBPEiwAeKw3q_cB1YixlaTAlqLszrRii8e6QfS9nDik6Aigw2z_ifcWv-RSCAgF0xoCkHoQAvD_BwE

I got mine from Facebook marketplace. I wanted a really big one for the kitchen/living area (it’s 60cm diameter), and another biggish one for the laundry (45cm).

Tonnes of clocks on marketplace and gumtree!

Lincraft had some not that long ago, probably still do (but the one I got doesn't fit the spot I have for it because I have 3 whiteboards underneath full of fridge magnets).

With the grey Target one, i'd worry the numbers aren't easily seen, or maybe that's my ageing eyes and not very light house.  I like a white background with clear black numbers.

Love the Newgate clocks. I bought an over-sized one from Amara, similar to the ones found in UK train stations, same font. Might be too plain for OP though?

Spotlight sells clocks.
Independent jewellery stores and gift shops often have them too,

Temple & Webster!

I searched and searched for a clock I liked, ended up spending way more than planned, but it is beautiful 😍

I've got a lovely Newgate clock, 40cm across, big clear numbers-  one hand red, the other green. Not cheap though.

I was also going to say Temple and Webster! They had a huge range when I was looking for one for a gift. I am planning to choose one from there for our kitchen, my $20 Target one stopped working soon after I bought it 🤦

We bought ours from Etsy years ago, still going strong and looks great. You can see the plywood layers from the side, although I guess it depends how you mount the clock (you can see the side of our clock as you walk past the kitchen bench.)
