Supporting businesses

Recommended Posts

I want to buy Scrabble.  But I'd like to get it through a small business rather than COTD or Big W.  I'm in Vic, basically Melbourne but just miss out on Stage 4.  I'm also after other family games.  We have Cluedo but it bores me.

Any suggestions of a business to go through?

After this, feel free to post your 'supporting businesses' requests as well.

A bookshop or the local newsagency? Sometimes they sell board games.

What's COTD? Are you looking for a local shop or something online but not a major shop?

Catch of the Day.  Exactly as you say.  We can't/shouldn't go driving with restrictions.

Kidstuff isn’t tiny but it’s a reasonably small company, and usually good service. They generally have a good range of board games and a functional website.

If anyone is looking for children’s books, I absolutely adore “Escape Hatch Books” in East Kew. They only opened late last year so what a time to start a business! A lovely shop.

Depending on where you are, Real Toys in Ashburton. The owner does free local delivery, or $10 under $150 flat fee.

I was going to suggest this shop.  They did / do have at least a couple of stores in Adelaide which we have bought from but I cant see them listed.  Hopefully they haven't closed.

We shop with Gameology (based in Clayton South) - they’re a warehouse but you can buy online or, in non-covid times, pick up from the warehouse itself

@MadMarchMasterchef it looks like the SA stores are owned separately but under the same name. They have their own website.
