Best place for bigger bras for teen

Recommended Posts

DD15 is spilling out of E cup and target, kmart and big w aren't cutting it anymore.

What's the best place that doesn't cost the earth for F cup bras that are still nice enough for a teenage girl?

Brava Lingerie or She Science might be worth a look - may be more expensive but a broad range of brands. Both online.

Bendon outlets often have sales where nothing is over $20. There's a big range of sizes across their brands.  In Melbourne they're in DFO etc, you'd have to have a look online to see what's near you.

Do you have a Bonds outlet anywhere near you? They sell berlei, playtex and some others, And the staff are very good at fitting. I’ve never found any of the cheaper brands to be any good, so my best bet is to know what fits and then stalk the bonds and berlei websites for sales. (Was a 10DD at 14, now around a 14E). Bras n things were useless.

Myer.  They regularly have 40% off most brands.  They regularly seem to have a clearance rack and at different times you can get 25-50% off the clearance rack, meaning you can get a great brand for around $20.  They do fittings at Myer too.

I have seen some bigger sizes at big w in some of the better brands.

It would be worth taking her to get fitted. My teenager has had good experiences at Myer. You could get the fitting done and then wait for 40% off to make it more affordable. Berlei tends to be preferred and last well - pretty colours/fabrics too. She may need to go up a size (not just a cup size) to make a difference to the overall fit.

There is a store called Brava Lingerie that used to be called More than a Handful.  It's in Melbourne and Sydney, and also online.  Not cheap though.  But a great range of larger cup sizes, I get all my bras there and have done for a decade now.  The fitting staff are excellent.  The shopping experience is so personalised.  It takes an hour to buy a few bras, they fit every one onto you, and give you specific feedback about each fit and the support etc.  In all my years buying bras I've never had such good service,  and it's like that every time I go to their store.

City Chic would be OK.  Some are a bit OTT for a teen but there are some nice not dowdy ones as well

Debra's is my go to for bra's. They fit you in the right size and have an enormous range of larger sizes, including swimwear that is very supportive.

Yes I was going to suggest Myer, I’m an f cup and I buy Berlei bras from Myer when they have their 40% off sales

I got fitted there a few years ago, don’t know if they still do that

We are in Darwin so not a lot of options for outlets and fitting places except bras and things.

But thanks for all the replies. It'll have to be online which isn't always the best for something that needs to fit well.

https://brastogo.com.au/shopbysize/fcupbras.html?sort=priceasc,  these often have $20 - $30 off and $50 for your birthday,  can do online fittings

Plus size bras are usually quite cheap,  and often have sales,  I think some down to $8 at the moment

I noticed  Sarah Lyn Lingerie has a  Clearance Outlet store in Darwin,  but you've probably tried there - Triumph bras go to G or H, and they are listed they sell them there,  or they should be able to get them in for you and get fitted there too

Maybe go and get fitted and buy one bra, and then from there, shop on line?

Assuming your DD is ‘just’ big boobed, then Freya and Fantasie (same company) are my go-to brands. They are properly fitted for small back/big boobs,  not just extensions of other sizes.

It'll depend on your DD's back size to cup size.

Plenty of places I think do the larger cup sizes in backs of 14 or 16 up but if you're looking at a 8- 12 back size you're going to be more limited.

Definitely go to a specialist place to be fitted. Preferably you'll find one that doesn't use a measuring tape. Once you get to larger sizes you really have to just try them on and see how they fit.

If you are looking for a smaller back with a big cup then you will most likely be looking at $60+ for the first couple but then if size is steady you maybe able to find the same ones online for a lower price.

I've heard really good things about this store.  https://brastogo.com.au/

Once she's been fitted in Darwin, you could order online from them.

I used to get heaps of bras on sale on eBay - find the size that works in a brand and then buy from the UK/US on the discontinued colours. Especially good for Freya/Panache, who had all sorts of fun colours. If you wanted bland like I did there weren't nearly as many bargains. If I was lucky, I'd get a $100 bra for $40 inc postage.

Thanks these are great. She's about a size 14 band. We will definitely go for a proper fitting.
