Marshmallow fondant?

Recommended Posts

ABabyPlease

Hi, have you ever made marshmallow fondant? I’m thinking of making for DS cake. I found a recipe that seems fairly easy.

It indicates that small marshmallows are best but I prefer Australian made and they are large. Will larger marshmallows work just as well?

 Thanks

I don’t know, but now I want to eat marshmallows... I think I’ve even got some tucked away.

I made some for dd's cake a couple of weeks ago. I only needed it for some decorations so it was only a small amount. I just used Pascal marshmallows

I use it regularly for decorating cakes.  It's really easy and quite yummy.  I've made it with the big marshmallows before - Some people recommend cutting them up but I didn't and it wasn't a problem.  You may have to microwave for a little bit longer, but no more than 10-15 sec -just keep checking it until they are melted.

I've made it before and just cut up the larger ones so it melts easier.

I found it much easier to work with, it doesn't tend to get as hard as store bought fondant so is easier to roll.
