We need a crying emoji

Recommended Posts

Dear mods,

can we please have a crying emoji. Often I want to click on the emoji icon but none show that you are upset or feeling for what the poster is going through. A big hugs emoji would be good too.

There is a crying emoji, but I think a big hugs one would be nice.

ETA: it’s a sad emoji not a crying one but I think close enough.

We need an anger one too. Especially with some of the sh*t women have to put up with these days.

And a hug one would be nice.

I keep needing a 'Wow' emoji on the comments buttons, to mean 'amazing' or 'WTF' depending on the context.  But overall, it's good to have evolved beyond a simple 'like.'

Oh yes, add me to the chorus for more emojis.

I would prefer ‘like’ to be a thumbs up rather than a love heart. I think the heart conveys a different sentiment.

ive been thinking the same thing about a hug one would be good. There are times when I want to show support but don’t have the appropriate words to express my feelings.

I'm never left wondering what to use with Facebook, and would be happy with those.

I find the 'sad' one here looks like they're nauseous.

And yes, something other than 'like' (bizarrely with a heart) to acknowledge someone's hurt/distress without looking as if  I 'like' what's happened to them!

A trophy should be for 'well done', not 'thanks'.

I'll stop whinging now.

Yup, the sad emoji needs to look more like someone crying than someone about to spew.

The like emoji needs to be like not love (and a love or care emoji could be separate).

I can see the usefulness of an angry emoji but I can also see good reason to not have too many negative emoji's available.

Trophy does not reflect 'thanks', maybe a handshake or something would be more appropriate. Google suggests the praying hands one for thanks but honestly that's much worse than the trophy even.

I like the idea of a thanks emoji but I think if we had a proper like and love that would probably be enough. It's less essential than those.

All the old forum emojis are still available, you just have to scroll down past all the new ones.

Oh oops, I'm talking about the reaction button emojis not the full set.

:bighug : and :cry :  do cover the requests for these emojis. You can type them directly, search for them in the search bar or scroll down to the 'emoticons' section where EB's old emojis are.

:bighug:

Thank you blackcat and Expelli! I didn't realise that the EB emoticons were still available down at the bottom of the emoji list. Excellent. Found my favourite one.

ETA That emoticon is : rant : without the spaces.

I thought praying Hands was high five.

I could understand high fives for thanks, ish, but definately not praying Hands.
