Naming third bub

Recommended Posts

Beevee

Help! I'm due with my third in less than two weeks, and we just can't agree on names or find ones we absolutely love. We have two boys, Charlie and Lewis. There are a couple of names floating about but I just can't make myself love them. Any suggestions are welcome!!!

Boys:

Clyde

Frederick/ Freddie

Elliott (DH isn't keen on this at all)

Girls:

Mabel

Josie/Josephine

Adeline

Edith/Edie

Ada

I think Frederick and Josephine work best with Charlie and Lewis. Both traditional but with cute nicknames.

I really like Elliott & Edith! I think they sound lovely with your other kid’s names.

I’ve always found choosing baby names so hard. I don’t know how I’ll decide on a 3rd boy’s name by December!

I think Frederick or Elliott. I wouldnt use another C name. I think Adeline, Ada or Josephine work best, in that order

I love all your names except Clyde.  But I love Clive - it's such a cool name.

With Charlie and Lewis, I think Frederick (nickname Freddie) and Josephine (nickname Josie) go best, but Clive would also go well.

Did I tell you I love Clive?

Charlie, Lewis & Frederick “Freddie” or Josephine “Josie”. I also think Edith nn Edie works well.

Other suggestions:

Max

Reggie / Reginald

Hugo

Toby

Ralph

Amelia nn Millie

Sophia nn Sophie

Penelope/ Poppy / Nell or Nellie

Ivy

Florence

Felicity

Evelyn / Evie

Matilda / Tillie

Esme

Imogen

Harriet nn Harry

Nora

Molly

Thea

Nancy

Bonnie

I love the name Mabel - only didn’t use because DH vetoed it.

I’ve always loved Theodore nn. Teddy

On your boys list the winner is Frederick for me. I do like Elliot a lot (was on our short list for DS1) but it's become quite popular, if that's something that bothers you. (My DS1 has a top 10 name so this is not a judgement about common names, btw).

How about Franklin? Or Fraser (another from our shortlist for DS1).

Josie/Josephine is the stand out on your girls list. Then Edith and Adeline.

Mabel is a very cute but makes me think of cows, sorry.

Prancer is coming

I like Clyde.  We were tossing this Clancy or Clive up for my third child’s middle name - it had to be a C name!  You don’t see it much anymore, but at the same time it is a pretty classic name.

Not a fan of Clyde, like the rest though.

Probably go with Elliott of the two boys names.   Hugo??  Frances?

Instead of Ada what about IDA. It's a great name and almost unheard of now.

Charlie, Lewis and Elliot

Charlie, Lewis and Oliver

Charlie, Lewis and Owen

Charlie, Lewis and Emmett

Charlie, Lewis and Samuel

Charlie, Lewis and Benjamin

Charlie, Lewis and Archer

Charlie, Lewis and Jasper

Charlie, Lewis and Josie (I would use Josephine as the full name, Josie as her NN)

Charlie, Lewis and Gabby (Gabrielle)

Charlie, Lewis and Penny (Penelope)

Charlie, Lewis and Amelia

Charlie, Lewis and Daphne

Charlie, Lewis and Dottie (Dorothy)

Charlie, Lewis and Polly

Another vote for Elliott and Edith

I also like Emmett and Clive as alternative boy names.
