Down to the final three girl names!

Ok so we’ve narrowed it down to our final three girls names! We’ve looked at them all so much they’re becoming a mish-mash. I don’t like longer versions of nn sounding names so Charlotte/Emmeline/Emerson etc are out.

What’s your fave?

Scarlett

Lottie

Emmy

I prefer Charlotte and Emma or Emily, I don't like the NN form of Lottie and Emmy

Emmy - but I’m biased with my gorgeous little Emmeline having that nickname (though we spell it Emme) 😊

I prefer this spelling also but when I asked a few people in real life recently, I got ‘Emm’ as well as ‘Emmy’ so figured I’d go with the more obvious spelling

I like Emmy. Your mouth makes a smile when you say it :) But, I'm biased, I have one, although her full name is longer, she gets Emmy or Em most of the time.

Love lottie and emmy as nicknames only.

So that leaves Scarlett.

I have known two Lotties without full names, so I think that it can stand by itself.

Emmy however, is far too cutesy. Scarlett is quite nice but insanely popular at the moment.

I like Lottie I think it can stand in it’s own.

Lottie and Emmy feel like baby nicknames to me.
Charlotte and Emily are beautiful and classic options though with scope for your preferred nicknames 🙂

From your list, I’d choose Scarlett.

partially because Lottie and Emmy I see as nicknames, and most people will assume they are nicknames. Charlotte, Emily, Emma ... gives a more grown up name if they choose to use it.  Emmy in particular has lots of options for a less nicknamey full name.

I agree with pps that Emmy sounds absolutely just like a nickname.

Emma and particularly Emily were endemic when my daughter started school and plenty of people called them 'Emmy' affectionately, so I suspect she'd have a time of it, continually saying um, no, that's my actual full name.

Lottie I adore. Tried to make it happen with next door's Charlotte (now 20) but she wasn't having a bar of it. Ha ha

What I would have done in that circumstance is put Charlotte on the birth certificate, not told anyone, and have her be known as Lottie by everyone.

(I say that because I knew if I did that with Lily - Lilian- my mother would have insisted on calling her Lilian. I would only have been done to give her options later in life.)

Funny how different periods throw up different nicknames. Growing up any Victoria was Vicky, now they're all Tori.

I'm not a fan of nicknames on birth certificates which narrows it down to Scarlet for me. Emme is a proper name too, and very pretty.  I'd go with that over Emmy.

It's hard to chose because I am not a fan of any of them, but I'd pick in this order -

Lottie

Emmy

Scarlett

I love the name Lottie. I think it's a lovely name on it own or as a NN for Charlotte. Scarlet would be my next choice. Not a fan of Emmy; prefer Emily.
