16yo having delayed issues with loss

I had considered that, Mrs Laurie, but my child has said he finds stories and discussions about his dad really upsetting because he feels left out in not being able to remember and I think adding other people into the story might accentuate that feeling for him. I think its really important that whatever I do is only about him and his dad so he can then have that one connection that is only his. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I’m really impressed he is able to articulate these feelings and thoughts. I’ve got one with ASD and while they function adequately in an everyday sense in most regards, there is no way on God’s green earth they would be able to articulate this or indeed within themselves connect ‘why’ they felt this way so you have had a huge win with that aspect alone!
