Turned out feet

Recommended Posts

My 15 month old isn't walking unassisted yet.

She is very confident with a walker or around the furniture etc. and will take a few steps, but i've noticed that her feet are very turned out.
I did flag it with our GP at 12 months that I was a bit worried, but she said that they should straighten out when she starts walking. However, i'm not sure if the turned out feet might be hindering her from walking. My family jokes that she walks like a crab.

Should I go back and see the GP? Anyone else have experience with this?

I don't have experience with that particular question.

If you are concerned I would see a physio who works with children.

A  little girl in my mother's group walked on the outside edge of her feet when she first started walking. Her mum took her to a podiatrist that specialised in children who fitted her with orthotics and prescribed excerises.  Go back to the GP or you MCHN if you think the GP isn't listening.
