Sister for Oscar

Eleanor is my pick from your new list. Charlotte is lovely but too popular for me.

l know an Oscar and Olivia who are siblings. They got reduced to Occy and Ollie by their parents (full names by everyone else).

Oscar and Charlotte. Perfect.

I love the name Charlotte (it's my 17 yo middle name) but I recently met a Charlotte in her forties. A Strong and courageous woman!

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

We've had some time to test some out to see how we feel and the ones we like most are Matilda, Florence and Amelia. We are concerned that Amelia may be too similar to my name. I don't want people to think we've named her after me... not my style.

Florence Alba is pretty and appeals more to me due to not being as common as the other two options. Not sure if you’ve mentioned it already, is there any particular reason you’re choosing Kate over Katherine?

If Amelia is not in the same name family/root source as your name and only sounds similar I wouldn’t worry about it.

Katherine is a pretty name just not my style. I think Kate as a middle name adds an element of freshness whilst being pretty classic.

I really like it. Have mentioned Florence Kate Alba or Florence Alba Kate too but that'd really long and I'm worried it's too clunky.

Great list of final three!

My order of preference

1. Matilda Kate

2. Amelia Kate

3. Florence Kate

I think Amelia is noticeably different to Emma, I don't think you need to worry about it sounding too similar to your name. I know an Amelia  (a friend of DH's gran) but she is often called Milly and Ammi by family and friends. However, some alternatives to Amelia (if you are still looking) include Adalia, Adelaide, Adeline. Adele, Cecilia, Elodie, ...

Florence Alba Kate is my #1. DH likes Florence too but isn't sold due to the length of the two middle names (because I can't pick a name to drop) and thinks we should go with Matilda Kate which is our runner up. So I guess we'll see.

Matilda Kate is gorgeous. I don't love Florence.
