Baby frustrated and whingy - and so is mummy

Hi mamas; bubs is 7 months and 1 week. He has been crawling since 5 months. Right now, all he wants to do is pull up onto us and have us help him go from us to furniture. He's been incredibly whiny these past few weeks; I assume it's because he wants to stand (& walk) and can't do it on his own, as we don't have furniture or steps low enough for him to pull up on his own. He whinges at other things too; he seems to suddenly hate having his clothes/nappy changed especially.

Is he going to be like this until he can successfully pull up on his own? I'm already at the end of my tether as he's been downright unpleasant to be around. And I don't think separation anxiety has even kicked in yet.

I'm really struggling too as not many other bubs is going through this at this yet; most of my 11 parent group babies are only starting to roll over now!

Thanks - and sorry for the mama whinge

Could be teething or maybe something else. I'd get him checked out at the GP e.g. ears, nose and throat, he might have a sore throat, or an ear infection.

Also sounds like your baby is on the move early. We got a push along walker when DS was pulling himself up and standing whilst holding onto things. He could hold onto it and practice walking. Although DS might have been a few months older than your DS. He was walking just before he turned one and loved being on the move.

Also, if Bonjella teething gel doesn't work on your baby and you're located in Vic, Thompsons Pharmacy in Eltham does a compound baby teething gel and they deliver too. We used that for years, as DS was a hardcore teether.

Have you thought about an activity center? He can stand and play. Might give you a break. 2nd hand on FB they are usually cheap.

I agree with this! But also wanted to say that yes, he might just be frustrated. My DS was a different kid when he learned to walk. He was just frustrated for his first 11months.

Find a way to let him get up on his own
