Any recommendations for a good driving instructor / driving school for the south side for my DS17? Preferrably not too expensive while still being good!

all charge upwards of $70/hr, but quality lasts a lifetime. I recommend Pinnacle as they have corrected DHs lifetime of bad habits and very patient.

We used National, and they were neither here nor there. Similar lesson price to jaksette's.

I got a little frustrated toward the end when it seemed that they were just stretching things out to get $$ from us. DD got frustrated too and just went and booked her assessment at Access Canberra and passed first try when they had gone from saying "you will only need a couple of lessons all up" to get us in, to "okay, we can only assess ?two things per lesson, then you have to have a practice full drive, then we can do your assessment - so we were looking at another $700-800 on top of the lessons we had already paid.

Make sure that once she has been driving for a while, you also do this government funded free lesson https://www.keys2drive.com.au/ It was really helpful! It was not about how to drive, but about how to transition from supervised driving to being a P plater

Is that National Driving Academy?

Ok, thanks so far.

Just one more thing. Do Canberra EBers suggest going the Logbook route or just lessons and practice with the aim of sitting the exam at the end?

Which is the cheapest / best option?
