7yo boy needing ideas for activities

My sensitive and extremely unco 7yo DS does dance. He's the only boy in the class this year (and probably one of the least talented) but the girls are good to him and the teacher has a soft spot for him. He really enjoys it. He's doing acro this year and it's been great for his coordination.

Martial arts or/and dance.

Both work on cardio, flexibility, memory and - most of all- are good fun.

My son started dance as he wasn’t sporty and my daughter already went to a dance school. It was easy just to drop off both of them! . Because of dance he just won the age champion for sports/athletics at school as dance has made him so incredibly fit and strong. So he went from totally not sporty to super-sporty! And it has given him a confidence and self-assuredness that I never imagined he would have.

For my 7 year-old son I enrolled him to swimming classes, guitar lessons and when he's only at home I bought him coloring books and books to read in the morning and let him play in the afternoon with his bike or scooter.

My 9yr old is very gentle as well. He started doing jazz and tap with his twin sister at 7 and loved it. He now does a hip hop class. He is also plays netball and does gymnastics, nothing serious just mucking around on mats, mini tramps and foam pits...loves it!

Not as physical as you might like, but what about ten pin bowling? Most centres have a junior comp each weekend. There are some based on teams, but there are also comps that are just based on individuals.

Dance? My son didn’t enjoy organised sport but loves his hip hop class.

This. My DS 7 just started hip hop and loves it. Nice bunch of boys and the workout is great!

My nearly 7yo DS isn't sporty either. He has swimming lessons one afternoon a week but otherwise nothing else organised. He does go to choir at school. He's too tired after school to do much (and has two days of after-school care), and he has ADHD so needs some downtime (and the meds have worn off). He definitely wouldn't do dance, and I'm not sure about martial arts.

I'm waiting until he's 8 and can have rock climbing lessons at our local indoor climbing place (Blacktown), because he seemed interested in that. Otherwise I've thought of Scouts, but they're all too late in the afternoon at the moment. Or tennis, but again getting organised enough to do it is a struggle (I also have ADHD and his 4yo sister is very intense!). My dad was a good tennis player so I should really think about it (but DD4 inherited his sporty genes, not DS6).
