Camera gear whilst on holidays

Recommended Posts

j-gray

I'm heading to Europe for six weeks in June, and starting to think about what gear to take. I have a Canon EOS 800D and would definitely call myself a beginner.

Considerations:

* Don't want to carry around two lenses - do I invest in the 18-200 lens ? My everyday lens is 18-55

* Want to be able to store it securely - use my small bag or go with a wrap that means I can then throw it in a backpack?

* How to back up photos each day - rely on wireless sync to phone and iCloud or invest in a hard drive that can read the SD card ?

Interested to hear thoughts and tips !

i would definitely invest in an 18-200 lens - i purchased one recently and it pretty much has replaced my 18-55. try to get one that will go to a low f stop so you can take nice close ups as well as out to your 200 range.

i have a card reader thingy that plugs into my ipad - so i transfer photos that way. can then also post to facebook that way.

I have a 18 to 140 lens. I love it. Not too heavy but still versatile.
