Elective at Queanbeyan hospital

Recommended Posts

Has anyone recently given birth at Queanbeyan hospital via elective c section? Am looking at my options and I am struggling to find updated information.

I have read it’s for low risk births so do they even do elective c sections?

If so as it is shared care with the GP ob, do they perform the c section or do they bring in a specialist?

Thanks!

Feel free to pm me with any info on Drs too please! Does anyone know if Dr O’Rourke have practising rights at Queanbeyan hospital? Or any other private OBs?

Thank you for your reply! I will look into those groups. just from reading some reviews online I thought this may be the case. I did have my heart set on Queanbeyan because of all the rave reviews but I will research the others too.

I had an elective 2 years ago due to a third degree tear before. You might be better off going a speaking to a Dr.

Ellis, Davis and mende at rutledge plaza are all excellent. Dr Ellis used to be head of a and e, and she did my section with a surgeon. Was wonderful having her there in the room with us.

Thanks Bono25! Do you mind me asking if you went as a private or public patient? I had Dr Davis on my list, I will look into Dr Ellis too

Paid for gp and ultrasound if through a private clinic like canberra imaging. I had my 20 week scan at the hospital and it was bulk billed, same as the glucose test.
