Trucks!

Recommended Posts

LucyGoose

My DS is 2.5 and really loves his trucks and construction machinery.

I have bought a few little CAT trucks for him which have held up well, but other cheap little trucks have had bits broken off.

I want to buy him a few for Christmas but am not sure what brands are good quality/ worth the money? Or even cheap ones that are sturdy enough to withstand rough play?

Any suggestions?

Siku die cast cars/trucks/etc are very tough, but expensive.

John Deere green plastic ones are surviving our sandpit, going 3 years now. The Tonka Toughest range are great too. I find wood ones can chip and the paint wears off.

Also invest in Duplo trucks. Mine survive truck crashes, being slid down the slide and you will get lots of use out of them.

I second viking toys - the small ones we have are still in perfect condition 7yrs on. And the larger ones are faded but still fine to play with.

You can put them in the dishwasher to clean them. If you're that way inclined.

Viking chubbies! They come in a range of sizes, styles and colours. Being plastic/rubber? they are hard wearing and easy to clean.

Viking are very good, we've got a small set that are three years old and are going strong

DS was given this set last xmas and good grief, it's been through hell and back - outside and in play - but it still in working order and amazingly robust https://www.mrtoys.com.au/turbo-king-shovel-trailer-8111.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4Jj8gsf71gIVVaFoCh1z4ATlEAYYASABEgKT4_D_BwE
