Hi stace and future members,

I got my bfp about 1.5 weeks ago. I also tested for a faint bfp at 10dpo (even though I promised myself that I wouldnt test early this time lol) I recently had a long drawn out missed miscarriage at 8 weeks, so I'm also quite hesitant this time around. I havent even been to the drs yet so I havent had my levels tested but I'm booked in for Tuesday.

Hi all dropping into this group, got the bfp last Monday at 11dpo had 2 betas and the numbers are doubling great so it's starting to feel real. This will be our first, we had a 5wk mc from ivf in may so feeling a bit insecure until we're further along, don't really feel like we can get excited yet.

The fatigue see on straight away for me that's why I suspected and tested, I'm doing a lot of burping but otherwise feel ok. Had a bit of spotting a couple of times which just makes you think the worst!

Hi and congratulations to you mamas!

I think I'll cautiously join in here. Currently 4+5 with baby no 2. DS is 11 1/2 months so I'm a bit shocked that we are expecting again so soon even though we decided to start trying. I've had two sets of beta done at 13dpo (95) and 16dpo (570) so things are looming good so far. I'm still breastfeeding DS at night so let the weaning begin!

So far my symptoms have been tiredness, mild cramping since ovulation, low milk supply, increased hunger and that bittersweet nausea is starting to show. Today I've been feeling dizzy as well.

I hope we are all in this journey for the long haul and wishing you all the very best, most boring pregnancies ever!

Morning ladies! I hope everyone is going well. Seems to be a few of us in here straight off the back of a mc. I hope this time is more fruitful for us all.

I'm being such a POAS addict! I've tested every day since my first bfp lol on the plus side, the lines are definitely getting darker and stronger so I'm starting to feel a little more confident about this pregnancy.

I'm far more hopeful for a good rise in my bloods tomorrow, but won't get my results from them until late Wednesday.

Hi ladies, I'm probably jumping in way too soon.

Stace_WA: sounds like we are in a similar position. I too just had a mc last cycle at around 6wks. Now I am 10-11dpo and got a bfp. The line was very much there but not as dark as control line Yet. So will test again Wednesday morning and I have a Dr appt on Thursday morning where I will ask for blood work also.

I really hope this is a sticky.

Does anyone know what your blood test should read if done around the 4-5week mark?

Hi Teah! Great to see you over from the ttc threads ☺

Here are the ranges for hcg. The problem is, the range of normal is so huge, it's the doubling time that's important.

3 weeks LMP 5 – 50 mIU/ml

4 weeks LMP 5 – 426 mIU/ml

5 weeks LMP 18 – 7,340 mIU/ml

I hope that helps!

LOL i'm the same Stace! I'm enjoying getting bfp everyday to make up for all the bfn over the years. It also makes me realise that the darkness of the line is pretty subjective, my hcg was 452 on friday and the line still isn't as dark as the control line!

Welcome Teah! My hcg at 13dpo was 85 but normal is a pretty big range

Hi everyone - dipping my toe in. I got my BFP on 7DP5DT (first round of IVF) and have been peeing on that stick every morning since then! Now at 11DP5DT and the line is super dark. My BT isn't until Wednesday though.

This is our first pregnancy so I'm busy googling everything possible. Food has me worried the most. Did a big clean out of the pantry over the weekend and then re-stocked. Then spent ages working out foods I can have easily made for work lunch.

Here's hoping everything goes well for everyone - and we all have an entirely uneventful 9 months!

Welcome and congratulations MissTR and Betsy!

Beaty, try not to worry about food. Are you worried about eating healthy or what you can/can't eat? There are so many rules and guidelines it's easy to feel like there's nothing left to eat if you follow all the rules. The most is important thing is to eat fresh, healthy food. I still ate sushi and some cold meats when I was pregnant with DS but just made sure it was freshly made and didn't buy cold meats from the deli for example. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have!

Take care everyone!

Hi MrsMad

It's very much the rules and regulations of food! I normally, for work, cut up a bunch of salad on a Sunday and store it in a tupperware container, then take some of that with cold meat (cold chicken, ham, etc).... of course I can't really do that now. Lucky we're in winter. On Sunday I made a batch of pasta bake which I'll heat to super hot. And might make a stir fry. Such a pity I can't have rare steak anymore!!!

It would be really good to hear some other lunch ideas that you and everyone else has. :)

Welcome Betsy and missdolly and congrats!

ivf is such a punish betsy I'm so happy to hear you were successful!

I'm not real worried about the food at the moment, I just want to eat salty carbs all day everything else is a bit meh.

I'm not being overly worried about food just yet. The placenta doesn't start to take over for a few more weeks, so as long as I'm not stupid with food I think I'll be on for now. I'll start trying to get in the habit of making better choices. I was far more cautious with DD, but she took a long time to get so I completely understand the caution, especially after going the the hell of ivf Betsy! Doing big batches of easy freeze meals could work well and just heat them up piping hot for lunch? Curries, soups, pastas etc?

I was pretty careful with DS and what I ate during the first trimester but then relaxed a bit. I definitely ate a few things that were on the "no go" list. The only thing I really stuck to was making everything myself and not buying lunch at work. Pretty much everything is pre made and I just wasn't comfortable with it. But everyone has a different opinion as to what you should and shouldn't eat. Just do what's right for youths what you're comfortable with.

Betsy, I would still do what you're doing with the salad and cold meats. Maybe not ham (although ham sliced straight off the bone is okay as the meat hasn't been exposed), but certainly chicken is okay especially if you have cooked it yourself. As long as you're practicing safe food hygiene it is perfectly okay. The risk is only if it makes you sick (have you even gotten sick before from eating your salad and cold meat? I doubt it! ;)). The things I'd be wary of it definitely not food you have made yourself, more the types of food you find at servos that have been sitting in the fridge or oven for god knows who long.

Also, rare steak is fine because again the inside of the meat hasn't been exposed. Try not to get too caught up in avoiding foods because you'll end up reaching for the take away. The risk of getting sick is so so low. We live in Australia!

The main things I avoid are alcohol (obviously), caffeine, cold meats from the deli (but sometimes I buy the packaged ham and eat it cooked), some mouldy cheese but honestly after 12 weeks I eat it and anything I can't stand the taste of. Oh and deep fried foods because if the oil isn't changed properly it can make you sick but that's it (I'm scarred from a Bali experience)! I eat everything else especially if I cook it myself. You will be fine, enjoy your pregnancy, it's the most amazing time.

Hi everyone,

I'm 5 weeks today, meant to see my GP for the first time, but my mum is really unwell and I would really rather not take my 6 & 2 year old, especially as I dont want to tell them yet. I wonder how the GP will feel about talking in code ;)

Re: food I am trying to be good this time around, and so far so good. I have cut down on caffeine, down to about 1 normal tea a day (I also have roobus) and a couple of coffees a week. I just had my last coffee sachet (i had a horrible sleep last night) so hopefully I'll just stick to my decaf coffee for now.

Not really feeling much in terms of symptoms, main thing is very tired and exhausted. Dreading morning sickness but at the same time sort of wanting the reassurance that things are going well. But then again I had morning sickness last time and it didn't end well. I don't think I'll feel better till I have an ultrasound and see the heartbeat, and even then I'll still be a little nervous.

Hope you're all doing well.

Hi ladies

I'm currently 13dpo and my symptoms have now settled. I still feel slight lower back ache and my nipples don't really feel too sensitive anymore. I'm hoping this is OK and that after this week I will have more symptoms.

I didn't test again today, I'm going to test again tomorrow morning and hope the line is still there.

Thursday I have doctors appt. And I will ask for a couple blood tests to make sure things are progressing.

Started to have doubts now. I really hope this isn't a mc or chemical.

Do you think there is any truth in how dark your line is? My test line at 10dpo was not light at all but not super dark (which I didn't expect) . When I have had chems or mc they haven't really been that dark at 10dpo .

I'm just trying to make myself feel better haha

Hi!

I'm currently 4+2 with #1. Super early days but exciting all the same. It still doesn't feel real.

I got my BFP on 11dpo and it was super strong and clear line.

Feeling super fatigued (I napped all weekend and I never nap!) and my boobs are super tender.

I've decided to give up caffeine all together for a couple of weeks to just see how this all moves along.

Looking forward to riding this journey with you all

Hi Teah

I've been testing every day since I got the BFP. My first was was 7DP5DT (so 12DPO) and it was very light. However now at 13DP5DT, the test line is darker than the control line. So I don't think it matters that it was light at 10DPO.... it'll get darker if you want to keep testing that way. Otherwise the blood test will definitely know.

I'm back to the fertility specialist tomorrow for my blood test - here's hoping for a nice number!!

Thank you everyone for the food pep talk :) It just feels weird having to think about something else other than my food desires hehehe

Re symptoms - I knew something was up when I started to get dizzy and had headaches. I rarely get any headaches and these have been waking me up from my sleep. Other than that - pimples! Everything else seems pretty normal so far though.

Welcome Kwin!

FX for your FS appointment tomorrow Betsy and you get great numbers.

I find it fascinating that so many of us have experienced CP and MC in the past, it just makes for a bunch of really jittery pregnant women waiting for the day we can hear a heartbeat. I'm going overseas today so at least that will keep my mind off it for the next 3 weeks, then it will only be a few days until the 1st scan thank goodness. How is everyone else managing with the worry?

Thanks Betsy, good luck with your bloods all the best.

I'm definitely worrying today. I just can't help it. Want to do another test tomorrow morning and then off to doctors Thursday morning.

This is now my 5th preganacy and only one of them have given me my beautiful daughter. I have had one chemical and the rest mc . Sounds like most of us on this board have had similiar. I guess that's why we worry so much until we see that hb.

I really really really want this to stick. I hate this waiting!!!!

Good to see some new people in here! Congratulations ladies!

The waiting is a killer isn't it! I'm anxiously waiting for my results from yesterday's blood test. Hopefully late this arvo... I'm needing at least a hcg of 100 for things to be doubling ok after my 27 last Thursday so fx! My hpt this morning was the strongest yet, the positive line was there before it had even flowed through to the control, still not as dark add the control, but I don't think the test I used ever does, it didn't work DD and my hcg was over 300 when I last used one with her.

I hope we are all in here for the long haul. Good luck and I hope the wait to see that little heartbeat isn't too long for everyone.
