oh i'm glad you're feeling symptoms again! I am the same, as much as i dislike feeling nauseous and bloated, i would rather feel something than nothing!

Aw no MrsP! that would be terrible! DP and I have celebrated either because i've been so tired haha

AFM i had my first vomit this morning.. not nice but hopefully it means things are still going good in there.. come on 5th!! haha I also booked my first app with my OB, 14th June :)

I hope you feel better soon Mrs P, there seems to be some sort of horrid cold going around at the moment I know heaps of people who got it and were super sick for at least a week.

For those of you in Melbs are you going private and if so have you picked your hospital ?

I'm going private for maternity care, have tentatively booked in to Freemasons.

GP appointment went well, got my referral and had my antenatal bloods done. Convinced the GP to do another bHCG too, so hopefully the levels are getting nice and high now. Results back on Monday.

Imagine if we ended up birthing there at the same time! lol

Oh, and bceleste - the similarities continue: my first obstetrician appointment is the 14th too!!!

I might try the milk and pegs, thanks guys! I want to give this vitamin a go as I have read really good things about it, but the smell is just killing me right now. My partner put it in two ziplock bags to try to mask it, haha!

Mrs Pemberly - I had a bad cold last cycle too, you poor thing :( :( lemon/honey/ginger/hot water got me through, just barely! The coughing was the worst though, everyone in my office kept saying, "go buy some cough medicine" I wish I could have!

You are all so organised!!! It's so good! I am waiting for my scan (and maybe even for the 12 week mark) for it to be "real"/planning time, superstitiously I feel if I plan or book anything before this I will invite disaster, even though I know that is not even remotely possible.. It hasn't stopped me re-decorating our spare room in my head though!

We don't have private health insurance that covers pregnancy unfortunately so I think we will be going through the public health care system, which has been good to me in the past so I am okay with it :) I'm such a pregnancy novice, I really didn't even understand how a obstetrician is different to the specialist we see now.... I need a Being an Expectant Lady for Dummies book.

Oh wow MrsP, that's so funny! haha

I understand how you're feeling Chino! And don't feel like a dummy, some Doctors do it all! like our FS was actually away the day of our FET but his colleague handled it and his colleague handles everything from gyno problems to obstetrics to fertility treatment :)

Plus I wanted to book early so she was available and I'm trying to stay as organised as I can because I'm also planning a wedding... DP proposed 1 year after we started trying and so we decided to plan the wedding for next year (knowing we were going through IVF) and this has just worked out really well so far.. People do think i'm nuts though.. hahaha

I've ended up being a lot more organised than I'd like to be actually. My IVF clinic advised me to book in with an obstetrician now, and I already knew which one I wanted. When I booked in with the obstetrician, her receptionist advised me I needed a GP referral, so I got that yesterday. And then yesterday, I got a letter from my obstetrician advising me when and where to book in for my 12 week scan. So now I've done that too.

To be honest, I didn't feel super-comfortable with it all, like you Chino, I feel like it's all just a bit too early when I haven't even had my first scan yet. But my DH says that I need to have faith in my body. So I'm trying to do that.

I haven't done anything else remotely organised yet, we're waiting until after the 5th to start telling family and friends.

You're welcome perfumista, so good to see you in here! :)

Our close family and friends knew about ivf so they know we got our positive and they'd also be the people we told if we miscarried.. waiting the twelve weeks to announce it but I feel better having people know.. I mean I'm not as stressed because I'm not constantly lying or trying to hide it :)

AFM my MS has decreased a fair bit since the weekend started, not too sure why and it's a little scary..

Hi Perfumista! Nice to see you on here :-) Sorry you're suffering through a crappy cold too, mine just will not clear off!

Bceleste, I'm sure the MS easing off is nothing to worry about. Probably because you're sleeping and eating better over the weekend, you're coping with the growing hormone levels better. The MS will probably be back with you before you know it!

Perfumista, I'm going to tell our core support group after our scan Monday week (so parents, siblings and best friends, also my manager at work). I'll tell extended family at my 30th birthday in July and then make the public announcement after the 12 week scan.

Happy Sunday ladies, hope you have had good weekends and you are feeling generally okay x

You guys have all encouraged me to get my skates on and get some stuff organised this week. Scan is Wednesday morning (finally within days of it) so if all goes well that seems like a good time to start asking questions about what we need to do next. I am hoping there will be a list to check off, I do like lists!

bceleste - my hat is off to you, taking on two major life events in the space of one year, you are amazing!! And not at all nuts... life has to go on, and what a special year it will be. Don't be worried about your MS, I think mine was a little easier on me this weekend but I was a total couch potato and didn't have to function through a normal work day so I put it down to that.

Mrs Pemberley - that all sounds really good. My fertility clinic sent out a letter and a pamphlet upon our positive test however they haven't given us any guidance/instruction beyond that (except for booking us in for Wednesday's scan), I like the sound of your clinic/Ob! I would like to be organised (I have a spreadsheet for everything in life) so it feels a bit weird to not really know what comes next.

jb_85 - sounds good too, have you worked with your Ob before?

Perfumista - so happy to have you here!!! I actually did a little woop when your name popped up :) :) :)

AFM and telling others - my parents know where we are at, but my partner's parents are OS so we thought we'd wait to give them an update when they get back. I guess I'll wait and see how long I can hold out. I will have to tell my work in July if all goes well, as that is when my supervisor leaves to go on her maternity leave (!!!). I've been having a bit of an internal back-and-forth about telling friends... I suspect another couple we know is going through some fertility issues themselves (they haven't said anything, but then again, neither did we) so I need to give some thought as to how to do it respectfully and in the right way.

Bceleste I thought my symptoms had eased off again but I all weekend I have been so exhausted from nothing which I take as a good sign, I have read symptoms can come and go, one week left till the scan.

Oh no chinoiserie can u try taking it with milk? I find you cant feel/taste anything.

Welcome perfumista nice to have you on board.

So far we have only told DH's dad and one of my close girlfriends who knows what we we're going through and who is also a counsellor so she is good to talk to, I suspect my mum knows, she asked me the other day because I got super upset about something. I want to tell them in person but they live an hour away and we don't have time during the week to see them so im debating telling them this Sunday but I feel like its bad luck in case the scan goes bad on the Monday. I need to stay off google looking at missed miscarriages

Morning ladies!

Got my BT results back from the GP, bHCG was 1821 on Friday (18dp5dt). I was a bit worried but after a lot of googling that all seems to be within normal ranges (but at the lower end) for a 5 week pregnancy. The doubling time is about 63 hours. It explains why my symptoms seem to be less than what you are all experiencing.

Hope everyone's week flies by until scan time!

Morning Ladies! Hope everyone is well.. One more week til scan today, I still think time is going super slow haha

Thank you Chino, I must admit it is a nice distraction at times having the two things to organise and I feel like i wont stress too much about either one haha I'm glad we have encouraged you but don't feel too bad, I don't think you usually do anything until the initial scan :) as for your tablets, I'm sorry they're so hard to take, maybe try milk like JB said but if not, you might just have to talk to hubby and tell him you cant do it..

JB, definitely stay off google!! as long as you're having symptoms, things are ok.. At least that's what i tell myself haha and so I would tell your parents on Sunday if you have the chance, stay positive and have some faith in your body (thanks MrsP's DP for that)

Mrs P, thats still a nice rise! and I was told that the higher your HCG, the more likely you are to suffer the symptoms like MS.. my HCG was 7760 at 16dp5dt and a friend of mine, hers was 79000 at 6 weeks and she had horrible MS..

Perfumista, how are you doing??

How far along is everyone? I am 7w on Thursday :)

Thank you for all your positive vibes, the MS did return and I think I have come across my first aversion: Chicken :( i'm sad because i LOVE chicken! haha

My sore boobs have gone but I just don't feel right and I'm still tired so I will take this feeling and be happy that I don't feel totally normal.

I have no idea what my hcg is, I had an initial blood test at the doctor but I don't even know what those numbers are... I feel it's sometimes better to know less so that I don't stress out. HCG numbers have such a massive range Mrs P and if your gp was worried I am sure they would let you know. I am 6 weeks today based on the date I'm guessed I ovulated on, since I was doing a natural cycle I could be totally off but I guess we find out on Monday... I wish this week would hurry up, all I want to see is a tiny blob with a heartbeat

Hi Ladies,

Thank you for the PM bcelsete :) and for creating an awesome group!

Hope everyone is going well? Hopefully you are feeling less coldy MrsP?

On the vitamins, we have always stuck with elevit as my FS recommended them. I know what you mean about the smell of some of the others though!

I had a bit of a scare today at 5w 5d as I started bleeding :( My FS sent me for a blood test, and hCG came back at 12700 and progesterone at 37. Bleeding appears to have stopped but super scary!

We have a scan on a Thursday so are keeping everything crossed (including my legs!)

Hi MrsTerryTate! Lovely to see you in this group but sorry you've had such a scare! Your hcg levels are really high, so hopefully that's good. Are you able to rest up for a couple of days until your scan?

I'm 5w5d today too. Been feeling very flat and teary today, can't get myself motivated and so scared that the hcg level isn't what it should be. I don't know why I can't get myself out of this funk, there's really nothing to be worried about. Anyone else feeling like this?

ForTheLoveOf

Hi Ladies,

I thought I would join the conversation and give a quick update on my situation :)

DH and I were trying 10 months before being referred to a FS and we were so so lucky to fall pregnant first cycle. We didn't manage to get any embryos for freezing so I was so glad we had a sticky one because the thought of going into another full cycle was so mentally overwhelming for me (major kudos to anyone that has!!). The whole process hit me a lot harder than I ever imagined it would.

I had blood tests at week 4, 5, 6, 7 and all my numbers were really good. The nurse was really surprised I didn't have any MS especially by week 7 when my hcg was over 140 000.

I've only had small symptoms here and there. Slight queasiness, tiredness and sore boobs (which is now barely anything). I can now totally understand how women go months before realising they are pregnant because if this was a surprise pregnancy I would have been able to attribute all those small symptoms to other events (IE run down from being busy at work, eating something a bit off). The lack of symptoms has been really unnerving, every time I go to the bathroom I'm terrified of seeing spotting but I just have to remember all the good numbers.

We had our dating scan last Tuesday and again, everything looked great. I'm currently 8w5d. I have an appointment with my GP on Wednesday, the first time I will be back to see him since his referral. He is fab so we are happy to be going through the public system with him guiding us.

Sorry for the novel, but that's me all caught up :) It will be so nice to have a support group. At the moment we have only told our immediate families. They were also the only ones who knew about the IVF so I've really been busting to talk to friends but we also want to be sure we are all good so waiting until about 13 weeks.

Has anyone considered the harmony test (or another similar)?

Welcome MrsTerryTate and ForTheLoveOf

MrsP, I think what you are going through is totally natural. We have no information week in/week out at this scary preliminary stage except for the occasional blood test and they can be read in such diverse ways. Also the internet/comparing our situations and levels to others can be the thief of joy, making us feel like we are not measuring up or something bad could be happening (which is usually not the case).

Aside from that, I also think rough patches like this may be attributed to hormones as well. Don't be too hard on yourself MrsP xx

Welcome Mrs terrytate and fortheloveof nice to see you ladies in here.

Mrs P I know exactly how you feel today I spent half the day feeling totally flat and I keep thinking what happens if we go in Monday and see nothing, not being able to see what going on is terrifying especially when its been such a long and tough journey to even get here. As hard as it is you just need to trust that your body is doing what its built for, try and relax (if possible)
