Pregnancy bleed

Recommended Posts

Nam1983

Hi all

I'm 14 weeks along, I had a massive bleed at 11 weeks and have been on bed rest/modified activity since then. Scans show a healthy bub. The bleed cane from the "amnion" Anyone had this happen???

Yesterday I had some old spotting after a bm again so hoping it's just old blood that got dislodged

It's quite stressful. I'm looking for any experiences with this sort of bleed and if you were able to go back to normality /work

I don't have a sit down job

Thanks guys

Hope everyone's bumps r doing well xx

I am due in July and have had 2 types of bleeds. The first one was a subchorionic hemorrhage. This usually shows on a scan. It's often ok and doesn't affect the pregnancy, however, very large ones can. They often disappear as the pregnancy progresses, so getting back to normal activity is possible.

The next bleed I have, they think is coming from the cervix. They think it's cervical erosion caused by hormones. It's the 'best' kind of bleed, as it doesn't harm the pregnancy. The other types of bleeds to watch for are a low lying placenta, or placenta previa, where the placenta partially or fully covers the os. Then, of course, there's shortening of the cervix, which needs urgent attention.

There are probably others, but these are the main ones explained to me. I'm not sure which one you would have. I've not heard of bleeding coming from the amnion. Did the Drs explain it to you?

Thanks bob. Seeing the ob tomr hoping he can explain better what this type of bleeding means

Just deflated as it started again this weekend. Even though it's old blood it's unnerving

I've been reading tho that a lot of mums have bleeding on and off and the preg progresses normally. It's reassuring

I totally understand. I've had 2 bleeds this week alone. There are a few of us in our due in group like this. Although it's not normal, it is quite common. Thankfully, I can feel baby move, so that's reassuring.

I hope you get more information tomorrow and I hope it's the least worrying kind of bleeding.

Hi Nam,

I had bleeding in my last pregnancy, the only thing I had to do (other than take it easy) was have anti-d shots as my blood type is Rh-.

I hope everything is ok.

Thanks urbenlenny

It's good to know you had a good outcome.

The bleeding is on going. Since Saturday.

I'm taking it easy etc I'm just hoping it will resolve very soon. It's so terrifying

Can you get in to see your ob/gp just to alleviate any fears?

Hi urbanlenny

I saw ob yesterday. Bub was doing well.

He has asked for another scan at 16 weeks to make sure bub is still ok

He thinks it will heal with time or I may bleed on and off throughout.

He was positive inspire of this bleed

He used the word "tear" on the outer placenta caused during its implantation.

I'm still bleeding today (old blood). Wish it stops.

I haven't had bleeding as you describe but I can imagine it would be very unnerving. Good that the OB isn't concerned though.

You said your job isn't a.desk job, is there a possibility you could be placed on light duties?
