Gold!

Hi reillyg, thanks for the positive feedback. You've given me some hope yet :) FX my reaction to Syneral is also minimal.

I see from your signature that you have a BFP since June - a huge congratulations!!! I wish you all the best with the remainder of your pregnancy :)

Ooo bronze.

Just wanted to say...synarel is the work of the devil...BUT, at my new clinic overseas, they give it by injection, :( which makes me think they've just made a bad thing, worse!. Apparently too many ladies got hayfever, colds etc. 10 bucks if you can guess where I am.

Arghhhhh CD20 PM test still getting flashing smiley!! Don't think I have ever O'd past day 20 before.. And also since tracking began can't say I have ever not ovulated in a cycle...

Here are my crazy thoughts coming out... Could it be because all my mature/maturing eggs were removed last cycle it has left none ready to go this month? Or am I over thinking it and that's impossible??

Snuggletime do you have pcos? If you do you have higher lh and estrogen anyway so you may not go back to negative. At least this is what happened me. CD27 here and they still mock me :p

But I was temping too so know the day I ovulated.

You in Ireland Rain? Think I saw on a post before you were Irish ;) would explain your username too :p

Furbaby I dont believe so the idea has been thrown around but a DR had never says yes I have it and no cysts seen on ovaries over the numerous scans done and regular periods. I did my temp yesterday and it was 36.22 that's one of the lowest I have ever registered so that's why I thought I hadn't O'd but it was imminent and I forgot this morning and I had brushed my teeth so it was to late unfortunately :(

I guess once again I will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.. And remember to temp :)

Lol, I am in Ireland (am an Aussie though), but having treatment in uk. When I asked why they don't use the nasal spray version and that was the answer, I just sniggered. I don't know why that made me laugh. Quite unkind really, but the thought of a bunch of snotty nosed women unable to ingest the drug....lol.

Sorry to ask, but those of you who are trying naturally this month...what is the reasoning for IVF? Always interested to hear others' stories (I'm sure you've already said, but I lose track of everyone). Best of luck with the natural cycle. I hope it means you don't need another round of IVF. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't desperately jealous. I'd give anything to have even a slight chance of a "natural, oops, miracle", but alas, it's not possible for us.

Shally, welcome, I know it's normal to worry about side effects etc.. Jo gave you a pretty decent account of my experiences with synarel, but you know at the end of the day it just becomes another thing you push through trying to get that positive result. It's amazing what you find you can do.

Thanks RainRain, and you are totally correct to say that at the end of the day it is just another thing we have to do and we somehow find the ability to push through it to get to the end goal.

I guess that the Synarel injections would be to avoid the weird taste that some people have, and the other side-effects you mentioned.

Snuggletime, I hope you get the solid smiley soon!

Hi Ladies,

Jumping on here to join you all now in this group. I got AF today and this marks day one of my first IVF cycle - have hit the end of the road with all the other attempts. Have a donor who lives out of town so literally have been flying interstate every month since January (minus the month we conceived and I then miscarried). Have waited 3 month for sperm to be quarantined at FS - now ready to go. Have had 3 counselling sessions at FS (a bit pointless as I have a DD already with a donor and am well aware of all the laws around it etc -but we got to have good chats anyways). have had all other forms of any type of invasive test any FS would find amusing to refer me for and feel like thats all behind me as well too.

I have been given a script which I filled today for a nasal spray.

First thing I was told to do was wait till day 21 and get a blood test. Then they would tell me when to use the nasal spray.

Any tips you can give me for this first stage. Im reading lots of past posts on pain relief methods and over stimulation etc etc and Im a little scared to death about it all now, but not much more I can do.

Im 41 now and have lost 3 babies in the past 18 months. Have been trying for number 2 since March 2014, and I mean like every month (bar the 10 weeks preggas before lost the first, the 15 weeks preggas before lost the second and 5.5 weeks preggas before lost 3rd) so as you can see this journey for me has been long and hard...Im ready now to try something new.

Also so very stressed about the cost as I'm a single mum and literally this is all my savings to try to achieve the much wanted sibling for my DD (she's 4). My relationship broke down after the second loss, was just too hard for us to get through, the second loss was quite traumatic and after everything DD and I have been through I just really want this light at the end of our tunnel.

Bring it on!!! (but please let me know any tips/advice along the way as slightly shi**ing myself at the mo!)

Rain I'm doing the natural cycle this time as I don't ovulate on my own and my last FS tried clomid and mini stim but neither worked for me so we moved to IVF. Now this FS has put me on Letrozole but it didn't work for two FET's trying naturally this cycle as we had a chem last cycle so FS wouldn't do an FET for one cycle after that. If this doesn't work I'm back to FET next month.

I was wondering what IVF would be like back in Ireland as I'm Irish and didn't think it would be as well set up as aus, do you have to travel to UK or do it for personal reasons? If you don't mind me asking :)

Billy welcome, sounds like you've had a rough journey so far. Hopefully this round of IVF works for you. Sounds like you're on a down reg so I don't really have any advise as all my cycles have been antag. I guess main one is feel free to come in here and vent, or ask questions or just hangout with ladies who are going through the same thing. Try not to let it all get to you as well, which is easier said than done. It can be very stressful experience and a rollercoaster of emotions as your hormones are usually pushed to the very limit.

As for the phsical side of it I just got majorly bloated so had heat packs on hand for the days it was worse than others.

Best of luck to you :)

Hello Billy and welcome :) I have only just joined this group too. I am sorry to hear that you have had such a difficult journey so far, and I hope very much that this round of IVF is successful for you.

I am also doing a long down reg like you, which includes taking the contraceptive pill for a few weeks and then taking Synarel nasal spray for 4 weeks, and then doing a blood test to see whether I can then start with the injections. As I haven't done IVF before and am yet to start on the nasal spray (11 Sept), I cannot give many tips unfortunately, but the ladies on here are a wealth of information and support, and I hope you will find solace here. We can be buddies for our first IVF cycle :) All the best to you!

PS, on which date will you get your blood test done for day 21 before starting the spray?

Welcome as well shally268. I have my 21 day bloods on 21st September then from there they say it's about a 5 week process before the eggs get collected. Wow, that's like a two month process!?! (Lucky I was going to be away from donor anyway this month as I'm heading OS for 10 days and he's going camping...!)

Let me know how you go on the nasal spray and everything as I'll be a newby 10 days behind you! :)

Thanks for the welcome fur baby and fingers crossed for your natural cycle. My last month we seriously did so many inseminations I thought my poor donor was going to get sore bits from providing the specimen each time but alas, still nothing (but red bits!) lol!!. I wish you much baby dancing this month and fast swimmers catching that egg!!

Rain rain, thanks for the advice in your earlier post about habit ft I just push through things to get a result, I'll keep that in mind everyone I find something challenging X

Here's to some BFP for anyone waiting to rest after their last cycle :)

Furbaby, from what I hear from some Irish ladies I've met that are going through IVF, no it's not the best in Ireland. I think sims in Dublin has the best reputation. We're doing treatment in the uk because my husband is British and we managed to get funding for two fresh rounds and two fet on the nhs. It's been a two year wait, so that's been excruciating, but it's almost here so I just hope like crazy it's been worth it. I really hope they're able to find a good cocktail of drugs to get you ovulating (hopefully you won't need it as you'll have had a successful natural cycle!). If not, it's good you have some Frosties waiting.

Welcome billy. I hope your IVF path is short. It's amazing all the things we go through that others take for granted isn't it!? Best of luck.

Hello to all out there. Is anyone currently in the 2ww? Sorry I have a hard time keeping up.

Got a bfn this morning 13dpo so that's me pretty much out. I know it's not over until AF but I don't think we got there.

Great you have nhs funding rain!! I wouldn't like to be doing this is Ireland alright just not sure they'd have enough specialists if you wanted second opinions etc.

Any sign of O snuggle time?

Furbaby, big hug your way. I hope your next FET cycle gets you that BFP! I read an article that said the chances of getting a viable pregnancy is slightly higher for frozen transfers - I'm not sure how accurate that is but hey here is to hoping :)

Hi All,

Hope it's ok for me to join this group/thread. Seemed like the most appropriate place!

RainRain, I'm in the 2ww. I've had 2 fresh cycles (#1 ectopic, #2, mc at 6w) and am now doing my first FET. ET was Wednesday - BT Sat 10/9. My uterus area is generally a bit tender feeling and I've had a few twinges here and there - desperately hoping I start to feel something that might indicate this is going to be a BFP (that sticks this time and in the right place)!

Shally268 & Furbaby, I've also read something to suggest FET can be more successful - I'm really hoping! I think it's partly because you're body is not getting over the trauma of the ER, and also because they can concentrate on getting your lining nice and 'plump'.

Welcome billy and he, you will find so much support in here I am sure.

Billy good luck with ur first cycle I never used the nasal spray so I can't offer any advice or tips sorry but I found the bloating and pain worse after the EPU so have your hear packs and pain relief ready to go

Furbaby nope!! Cd23 still have low temps and flashing smiley! Driving me crazy - might call the nurses tomorrow and see if they can offer any advice!

Rain I had a natural month whilst waiting for pgd results DP has a low count (that seems to be getting better) and I have unexplained issues but personally I put it down to a short luteal phase I only have 8-10 days post O till AF arrives which doesn't seem to be long enough.. Was doing accupuncture which did manage to extend it to 12 but then we got the SA results and decided to start IVF

Thanks ladies. Hoping mini stim works for the FET next month.

Welcome He! Best of luck in the tww!! Try not to go crazy towards the end, saying that I've never managed to stay sane :p

Hang in there snuggle, the flashing smiley is a d*ck isn't it!! I ran out of two boxes and it never went away :(

Furbaby, did you POAS again this morn? I'm hoping that maybe 13dpo is too early and you still might have a chance?

So I've spent the morn reading through posts and am having a little freakout. I read that kris3028 had to delay ET because her prog levels were too high (like ~40). My levels at ET were 63! I'm wondering whether the nurse didn't convey this to my FS, and this means that there's no way my frostie will stick :(

I should call the nurse I guess...

I hope all of you ladies have a great start to the week!

Not this morning He, but by bbt plummeted today so expecting AF tomorrow.

My FS like my progesterone to be over 40 for ET. Last cycle I got up to over 100 and she was fine with that, not sure why a cycle would be cancelled because of numbers of 40... was it 400 :)

Anyway you can worry about everything but try not to, all our bodies are different

Shally, I start my FET cycle when I get my AF, so I'm willing it to come now. hopeing the stim will give me a thicker lining as I'm sure that's big part of my issue. FX!

I know what you mean snuggletime, I hadn't have been temping and known about my pcos I would have persisted but the more I read I realised I had already O'd based on temps and CM.

Good morning to all the other ladies out there :)

Furbaby - sorry to hear, onwards and upwards with your FET though, I have fingers & toes crossed for you :)

BillyV - welcome! I'm new here too, this is a great place for support and guidance. It's definitely helped me reading everyone's wise words over the last few weeks! Wishing you all the best on your journey :)

He-G - welcome as well! Best of luck on your 2WW! I'm hoping to be there in a few days myself :)

AFM, I had the EPU last Friday and they got 9 eggs (was on a light stim cycle). Phone call on Saturday morning from the Embryologist advised that we had 3 of the 4 eggs fertilise via IVF. We also had 4 of the 5 eggs fertilise via ICSI (we decided to cover both bases).

So we had 7 eggs fertilised and I was advised I would be doing a Day 5 transfer! I feel like this is good news :) I'm guessing not all 7 are likely to make it to day 5 though!?

Now I have no idea what to expect with the transfer but I've been told it's similar to a pap smear, just longer?
