Hey lovelys... Congrats on all your BFP's!!!

I got my BFP 4 days late for my period. I am now 7w1d.. I'm really excited as this is baby number #2. I had a scan last week and the doctor told me then the baby measured 6w1d :) So I am actually less pregnant then I thought.. Lol.

I am due MARCH 12, 2017..

My baby's heart rate was 131 @6w1d... If anyone has had a scan, what was the baby's heart rate?? I am really hoping I have a girl this time!!!

Baby dust to you all..

If you have fb, please send me a friend request. I run a group for mummy's, those ttc and women pregnant too. The group is set on private to protect it's members, so all you need to do is send me a friend request and i'll add you to the group!~!!!!!

I'm due March 1st so could belong to either the Feb or March groups.

I have an irregular cycle so wasn't quite as pregnant as I first thought (started out in the Feb group). This also means I tested positive almost a week before my period would have arrived. Those tests must be pretty sensitive!

My scan at 7.5 weeks had a heart rate of 167bpm no idea what that means. Actually pretty cluelessly fumbling my way through this whole thing but trying to avoid Google.

I've been extremely tired lately, some days it feels like I sleep more than I'm awake. Today been a good day haven't fallen asleep at all.

Been google window shopping and got a list of stuff I want to get before jellybean arrives, wanting to lay by the new car seat infasecure grandeur treo (local baby shop $600, it's reverse facing till 2.5 and forward facing till 8 but hubby said to wait.

Anybody getting cravings? Not sure if they are pregnancy cravings or just regular cravings but I have wanted broccoli early on and lately I have wanted Chinese and today a banana fritter, doesn't help when I watch the food channel they have so many good looking dishes.

Tuesday is pizza night I can't handle the thought of it today really don't want to touch it or be in the room while they all eat dinner.

Everywhere I go I see something to do with babies and it's screaming at me

Even got a baby bunting catalogue this morning and the closest store is about 2.5 hours away from me

Daughter had a birthday today and my other daughters best friend and baby brother was there, the day I got my first hold of him is when I think I conceived. Didn't hold him today he was having special cuddles with family from out of town :) he is adorable

Pretty sure once I get my next scan Tuesday I'll be screaming it to the world.

Hi all,

I am 30 and due in March after almost 3 years of trying (and loads of fertility tests that all came back pretty normal and very expensive specialist advice to "just have more sex").

I had a negative preg test at around the 5 wk mark and came back positive just before the 6 wk mark. I have my first scan later this week. I have been keeping positive (loads of pregnancy afffirmations have been pinned) and am very excited but still can't quite believe it's really happening. After all this time, it's hard to believe this is finally happening for us.

I've been unbelieveably thirsty (drinking up to 4L of water per day and STILL THIRSTY), low back pain and quite dizzy and pale to the point that DH took me to the ER. Sugar, salt, pressure, etc all came back normal so they sent me home feeling like an idiot who has no idea what pregnancy feels like. Now in addition to all that I have a pain in my neck/shoulders and apparently that can be a sign of an ectopic but.... what am I going to do, go back to the hospital and have them brush me off again? I don't wanna get a rep as a crazy first time mumma to be who cried wolf? I mean, i'm not bleeding and I dont have tummy pain so i shouldn't be worrying. (right?) I'm just going a tad crazy waiting out for this scan. Im tempted to see if i can bump it up a few days and go earlier. I don't like feeling like this and not knowing if everything's alright or not.

Also, (i know, this is a lot in one post) i'm thinking of changing GPs as I was a little underwhelmed by my consultation when I told him i was finally pregnant. He didn't run a blood test or even a wee test; just took my word for it that i'd had 2 positive wee tests at home and then wrote up the form for my scan this week. Didn't take my blood pressure, didn't give advice (apart from don't eat soft cheeses etc), didn't even explain what i'm sposed to do after the scan... do i take it back to him (or a different GP) or to the obstetrician? Do i need to be referred to an obstr or do you just go? I dont know anything?

Congratulations Clumsy! After trying for so long it is such a surreal feeling isn't it, we had been trying for almost 6 years so I totally get it!

That's weird he didn't send you for a blood test, I would have wanted to know what my levels were. If you haven't had any bleeding or pain don't move your scan forward, the later the better, you want to see the heartbeat!

After your scan I'd go back to your gp either that one or a new one and they should tell you what to do next. I would say you would need a referral for an ob, but I'm not 100%

Congrats Clumsy- great news for you.

Yes I'd do what lissyrose said.after your scan Your GP will refer you to a OB and that will be the last you'll see your GP so don't stress about it too much. We have been through a crazy time getting pregnant too and my GP I think purposely remains unfazed too haha.

What day is your scan? I've got mine on Thursday - I'll be 7wks, tad nervous as my bloods have came back on the low side soooo we'll wait and see.

Oh yay, buddies :)

My scan is mid week when I will be 6&6.

However my cycle usually goes for closer to 5 weeks than 4 so wondering if that means i ovulated later than i think and therefore am not as far along as i "should" be by now? I hope i hear a heartbeat :/

I thought I was having my scan at 8 weeks Clumsy86 but it was actually 7.

My cycle can be anywhere from 28 days on the dot to 45 days so not a huge surprise that I ovulated later.

Regarding blood tests and early scans. My GP said that she likes to do the early scan with everyone but blood test for hormone levels only if there is something unusual (in my case I had been spotting) and no pregnancy test in the office as a positive home test is perfectly accurate. I think Drs are being discouraged from checking hormone levels as a routine blood test unless there is cause due to the Medicare costs.

Did you get a referral for other blood/urine tests? It is still routine to test for various immunities, toxoplasmosis, STIs, etc early in pregnancy.

Congratulations Clumsy86!

If you are going to go private with an obstetrician, you can ring them to book in (mine usually has 1st visit at 10 weeks), but you will need a referral from your gp.

Don't be too discouraged if you don't see a heartbeat at first on an early scan, especially if you maybe ovulated a bit later. They should still be able to see something, like a gestational sac and yolk sac, and hopefully give you some reassurance ☺

It's so hard not to feel anxious when you've been trying for so long. And sometimes some doctors can forget that.

But hang in there and keep positive ☺

Hi all, finally brave enough to jump in here. I've got a dating scan tomorrow as I have no idea of my due date and the BFP was a big surprise. I have a DD who is almost 4.5 and an angel boy who we lost in the 2nd trimester late last year. I had a chemical pregnancy in June and was waiting to get AF again to start trying - AF never arrived and instead I got a BFP.

I'm really nervous about the scan but I have to keep reminding myself that all my symptoms are positive. I'm so tired, terrible wind and constipation and feeling slightly blergh most of the time. Fingers crossed its all good news and bubba is growing well.

Hi everyone,

I am so excited to be joining you. I have one son who was three in April. My DIG group from then are all still part of an awesome DIG Facebook group, but I thought I would coke back here to join in. :)

I can finally get excited about this pregnancy. We had a miscarriage in May, and my levels didn't rise. They were slow this time but have since been doubling so I'm trillion. Due the 24 March which I read I am not alone and few others are too!

Looking forward to getting to know you all. :) xx

Nope; wasn't referred on for any other tests other than the scan. That's what I thought. :/

My scan's tomorrow at "theoretically" 6&6 (but given my ovulation more likely to be 5&6) and I am so nervous... i really just want to hear a heartbeat and know that everything is okay so far but I'm guessing if it's that early I won't hear a thing. Hoping we see other positive signs as another PP mentioned.

Jellybean5 generally for a scan its:

2 hrs before - empty your bladder then start drinking 1 litre of water which you need to finish 1 hour before and then hold until your scan.

Feeling a bit deflated and worried after my scan. The size of bubba indicates I'm only 6W3d, which is about two weeks earlier than I expected. If the dates are right I got my BFP at only 3W6d but the BFP was so strong and instant in coming up I thought it would be around 5W as that's what happened with my DD and how far along I was with her. I guess all I can do it wait another 6 weeks and see if the NT scan is still showing the same dates. So frustrating.

Hi CultureNerd I'm in the exact same boat as you.

Had a scan last Friday - thought I was 8w3d (although knew Id prob be a week less as I ovulate late) but she said I was only 6w3d?? Of course now I'm panicking that something is wrong.

My OB said everything looked fine though - good uterus, sac etc and we even saw the heartbeat but because my dates were so far out I'm booked back in for another scan this Friday to make sure things are progressing and heart-rate is increasing. I'm really really nervous but my DH has been fantastic reassuring me so fingers crossed all this positive thinking pays off and we get good news on Friday

Can you try and book in for another scan sooner than 12 weeks to put your mind at ease?

EJ79 and culture nerd - I was coming in to post the exact same thing.

I had a scan 10 days ago and it said I was only 5 weeks, which didn't add up with what we thought were my dates AT ALL. Had another blood test and it was showing hcg at 20000+ ... which didn't really clear anything up, as it's up from the last one, but it's all so general once it gets that high.

I have another scan this afternoon and am freaking out. SO hoping it's all good and that my dates are just earlier than we first thought - would love to hear a heartbeat, but I might not even be 7 weeks so maybe not.

Trying not to imagine the alternative :(

But I know how you feel culture nerd - it's so deflating/disappointing. Definitely see if your doc can get you in for another scan though, would be worth it to not have to worry the whole time.

Wishing you lots of luck for your scan blue_wren. Hope you get good news! xxx

Its so nerve-wracking! I don't know how I'm going to last until Friday for my second one. Just gotta keep a positive attitude and hope/pray for the best.

I am so very glad I found you ladies who are in the same boat at the same time

p.s: i'm a little weirded out by this but for my scan they've only requested 500ml of water an hour before. I've had plenty of pelvic ultrasounds (menstrual/fertility related) before and they usually require a lot more than that. I'm kinda glad in a way cos i've been peeing like crazy so not sure i could hold on to much more but will they see what they need to see with only that much in the tank?
