Random things you would like to say on Facebook but aren't game

Recommended Posts

yabbadabbadoo

A couple of things have happened in the last twenty four hours that have made me want to post to Facebook but I am not game enough. One is completely fluffy and one is proud mum, so instead I am going to post them here. Feel free to join me.

DS2 (Yr 9) has a processing issue and is not so great at his written subjects. He really doesn't love school. He does however have a knack for maths and on his ILP this year, one of his goals was to get an A+. Well he texted me a photo of his latest maths result earlier and he has done it - 100% and an A+. One huge boost for his confidence and one proud mum moment for me.

DS1 has a 'daggy' tutor that turned up yesterday with his head shaved and is suddenly now 'super hot' tutor. OMG I can't believe the transformation and he has the most amazing eyes. Luckily I have always made a point of chatting to him and being friendly otherwise I would have looked like a desperate housewife yesterday. (I have no problem with daggy, I just couldn't think of a better word - think beauty and the geek type).

That is all.

An A+ ? That is great work.

I want to say to one of my FB friends: We all know you want your DH to agree to you buying a donkey but posting endless photos of donkeys won't make him change his mind and it is getting really annoying. After 947 pictures they are starting to lose their appeal. Please, no more donkey pics!

And anyone who uses any version of 'blessed' - esp in relation to their perfect house / partner / children / life deserves to be kicked by a donkey !

It's fun to use sarcastically ie "Just hugged DS goodnight and he said" I love you mum" then sneezed in my face and wiped his snotty nose on my shirt #blessed"

If you changed your friends husband to your friends sister, you would be talking about me.........

There are many times that I would like to say "I am really doing it tough this week" or similar. But I am guilty of Facebook Pollyanna posting. I would post the A+, but never the "I am not doing so well".

Here's what I'd like to say:

"I am not Google."

"I am not school, go find out yourself."

Apple are not going to give you an iPhone.

I can think cancer/serious illness/Social issue sucks without reposting your ridiculous, unoriginal, poorly worded, sanctimonious twaddle.

Dear mother, posting a photo with "what a view" as the comment every time is ridiculous. Also, you cannot share my photos with your friends, unless you upload it yourself which I don't think you know how and nor do I want you to.

Even moreso, Apple. are not going to give you an iPhone, any more that Bunnings, Cunard.Cruises. or any other page with punctuation are going to reward you.

Nor are refugees given a pension at some umpteenth times higher rate than age pensioners etc etc.

Google before you share, people.

Here's what I want to say. Certain friends, yes you're life is awesome I know you #lovelife and are #soblessed but Nope I don't want to buy arbonne/thermomix or anything from you.

OMG - we must share the same friend! Is # an Arbonne thing generally - or do we really share the same friend because I don't know anyone else who does it.

I'd love to tell someone to stop ranting about her allergy and actually go see the damn allergy specialist she was referred to, NOT just Google stuff about allergies and come up with some crazy theories about said allergy and specialists.

To the SIL (now blocked) who shared the now tedious

"We have to tone down Anzac Day because some immigrants don't like it !" post. I only pointed out that this was a racist and BS post, asking you to take it down and not share it anymore. I don't think deserve the spray I received from you, calling me a 'twisted individual' and asserting your right to post anything you want, etc...

I really wanted to remind you that your parents were immigrants to Australia not that long ago, but I'm sure that that wouldn't have gone over well either.

A+ is awesome! Achieving a goal is even awesomer!

Those are totes facebook worthy things. There is nothing I won't share on fb. It's tough for me to kick my filter into gear so I post as I think... and then delete the next morning.

OK, I stand corrected. These things I won't post on fb... but I will post a reputable link to show that all these things are dumb and make a snarky comment about how perpetuating stupid is bad.

I have almost deleted 2 people.

Person 1 - Your friends all know what you look like, none of us need to see yet another seflie you haven't changed in the hours or 23 since your last selfie. And duck face suits no one.

Person 2 - We had a discussion about this recently - how annoying I find people in the party plan world that have a business facebook page but constantly post about their business on their personal page. You agreed with me, yet every single day, often more than once you are posting about your business on your personal page trying to garner business. Please stop.

I would like to say -

Congratulations on having a nice life and being so #blessed, now please kindly keep it to yourself and stop sharing every minute aspect of it. I already suffer from self esteem issues, so I don't need your #blessed life in my face all the time.

Jeez I sound like a sour puss

I know what you look like without makeup, so please stop posting selfies with so many filters layered on that you don't actually look like yourself.

And that 'stretch' filter you use, doesn't actually make you look skinnier, it just makes you look deformed.

Big breath and backing away from the keyboard before I copy and paste this.,....

Dear antivaxxer friend,

Do you realise all the "studies" you post are complete BS and can be debunked by anyone who has basic knowledge of science? Your complete failure to understand basic clinical and statistical concepts is making you look like a fool, and everyone who isn't a memeber of the same whacko brigade has already unfollowed or defriended you.

I am not at all interested in which chemicals (at trace doses) you think are in vaccines that are going to damage your precious son/daughter for life. Same goes for how you think vaccines are made, which is completely untrue. Ditto for all the conspiracy theories about big pharma.

You may have a point with the no-jab, no-pay policy but you did kind of bring it on yourself given the constant stream of antivacc propaganda you share on your page - there are gullible ppl everywhere and for everyone you convince, the immunisation rate drops further. That is why the govt have had to bring in this policy.

No sorry I will not be signing your petition as there are far more pressing concerns in the world.

Only thing is, if I posted this, about 1/3 of my friends would disown me unfortunately, many of whom I know in real life and get on well with apart from the AV thing. So my rule is, two strikes and you are unfollowed!

No, I won't like posts about "Like and share if you know someone who died from or survived cancer." If you know who will like these posts, just share it with them. I would rather not have it rubbed in my face that my dad, one of my grandmothers and uncles did die from cancer, or that my mother, brother and a different uncle have survived it and that due to it being so prevalent in both sides of my family I feel pretty damn sure I will get it at some point. #ignoranceisbliss #sarcasm

Oh all of the above!!!

To the person I recently deleted: Yes, your baby is cute. But uploading 10 photos taken in quick succession that look/are EXACTLY the same is slightly annoying. Let alone the fact that it's done multiple times a day. 600+ photos in your baby album. The baby is 3 months old. I'm not even going to work out how many a day that is.

To the people sharing those "close the borders" images: We are in Australia. We don't have "open" borders. Those images (which I personally disagree with) are referring to the European Unions open border agreement. Last I checked Australia isn't in Europe, but I guess if it's on Facebook it must be true.

*You do realise you can, in fact, go to the gym without checking in or even...*gasp*...posting a workout selfie, no?

*No, your online party plan party is not going to be awesome!!! super!!! so totally exciting!!!! regardless of how many exclamation marks you use.

*Easter gifts Are. Not. A. Thing. Stop that.

* "90% of people won't like and share this..." FOR A REASON.
