Well after the terrible day in emergency yesterday i was relieved to see both babies still very much alive and healthy today. The doctor believes my placenta has torn slightly away from the uterus which caused the heavy bleeding yesterday. At this stage bed rest and another ultrasound on monday is the plan and hopefully the tear will not get any worse (fingers crossed)

That's great news Pink. I'm so happy for you that the babies look healthy! You and your partner must be so relieved. I had a small amount of bleeding at 8 weeks and was freaked out as we mc our last baby at 8 weeks so I can only imagine how you must've felt. Hope you are doing okay yourself and have some good books thread whilst on bed rest, xx

Had a small family withering for my birthday tonight - and people bought me presents + presents for the baby. Naw. So I have some little singlets, a onesie, a bib, and toys, plus socks and mittens & booties.

I think I'm gonna get through the baby stage VERY cheaply! Lol!!!

Pink, that's great news. Hope they are getting all their naughtiness out of the way now, and the next 6+ months are incredibly boring for you!

Alecia, happy birthday! There is nothing more adorable than baby socks. Glad you got some presents too, lol.

AFM, just ticking along. Still vomiting, in fact it's worse now at 13 weeks than it has been at any point before. What happened to symptoms settling in the 2nd trimester? We have a GP appt on Wed to get the results of the 12 week scan (sure they will be fine) and my first midwives' appt the next week. Starting to think this might actually happen and I might be having a real baby in 6 months!

Had my 12 week ultrasound yesterday and both babies are low risk for downs syndrome which is fantastic. I have my hospital appt tomorrow. Hopefully all will be ok, the ultrasound guy said there was a small subchorionic hematoma which is obviously what caused the bleeding. The thing now is i feel like im leaking fluid, im hoping it just increased discharge or irritation from the bleed but in the back of my mind im freaking that its amniotic fluid, hopefully ill get some answers tomorrow. Its not a lot of liquid but i can notice it throughout the day.

well the hospital checked the fluid and unfortunantly it was amniotic fluid. There isnt much they can do but wait and see what happens. They said sometimes the tear will heal itself but other times it will cause you to go into premature labor and obviously the babies cant survive at this point.

Hi Everyone,

Pink I'm so sorry to hear it was amniotic fluid - hang in there and I'm sure everyone here

is sending you positive thoughts just like me. As you say yourself it can repair it self,

so please stay strong. I know its easy to say but bloody hard to do.

Well today is our NT scan - we have had 3 miscarriage's in the past and this pregnancy

approx 5 weeks ago the doctors told us to expect the worse. We have been hanging

in there day by day. As I'm on progesterone to sustain this pregnancy this far we have

been told that the NT scan is crucial for us to make sure its still a viable pregnancy!

We have seen a heart beat around 4 weeks ago so hopefully this is a strong positive

for us. ( Nervous is an understatement )

It's such a long road to become parents, no matter what happens today my hubby

and I will never give up!

Strangely enough my morning sickness came back with a vengeance last night - it was tapering

off which was nice, but seems it has it's own agenda. Just got to roll with it my friends keep telling me

(well I was rolling - just around on the lounge room floor yelling for my hubby to bring the bucket LOL)

I wonder if this is what they meant!

Will keep you all posted on the scan and hope everyone has a FAB day.

Hi all. A bit late to the party but wondering if I can join you.

My name is Paula. I'm currently 13w4d pregnant with baby #4. I have a 6 year old DD, 3.5 year old DD and a 2 year old DS. We live in WA.

Just wanted to add my good vibes/prayers/thoughts to Pink and hoping all is well.

My thoughts are with you Pink. I really hope the tear mends itself. Make sure you keep your fluids up to make a good amount of amniotic fluid in the mean time.

My NT results were great yesterday. I can't remember the numbers but they were 1:high hundred/thousands for everything. I've been spewing up a storm the last few days, so that is.... unpleasant, but a good sign.

Hope everyone else is going well.

Hi all,

We had our NT scan today and got great results - very low risk for Downs and Trisomy!

( Fab for my age)

YAY - finally after 3 miscarriages and an operation we have made it!

Such a nice feeling to tell everyone the good news!

Bub was moving around so much and was sucking it's thumb, so cute to see!

Heart beat was strong at 168 and perfect size - due 19th December. YAY

Pink how are you feeling tonight? Rest up love.

So flipping excited - hope I can get some rest tonight! Xxxx

Feeling a little better today. Have been trying to google success stories only, to try and stay positive. I just wish this leaking would stop, and hopefully no damage has been done yet. Its just so stressful to finally get to 12 weeks and think everything is fine just to be told your not out of the woods yet. The fact that it took us so long to get to this point only makes it worse.

Im so glad everyone else that has had the NT scan done got good results and hopefully everyone still to go gets good results as well.

How are things going Pink?

I just had more bleeding for the last 2 days. Not heaps but it was bright. I rang my GP today and he wanted an urgent ultrasound - thankfully the baby is fine, cervix closed, and still no sign of why the bleeding happened. The bub was jumping around like crazy and is huge now - it's measuring a full week ahead and is in the 97th percentile for size! I loved seeing it again but I could really do without the heart-stopping moments when there is red blood unexpectedly.

I booked in to that place for my 20 week scan since their sonographer was freaking amazing (and they bulk bill, and give me the images on a cd!).

Hope everyone else is well - I think the December group has to be the quietest one on the forums

Hi all,

2 cats & baby - I'm glad bub is fine! Scary stuff about the bleed though.

Just started tapering off progesterone, 2 days so far at 1\2 dose and touch wood

all seems good so far. (I keep checking every time I go to the loo though)

Morning Sickness is back and has been terrible for the past 6 days.

Can't wait till it tapers off soon - I hope

Anyone else going to the Royal North Shore hospital for midwife appointments?

If not where is everyone getting your care at?

Hope everyone is well, Dec group is quiet though no news is good news I hope.

Night all xx

2catsandababy - oh scary stuff with the bleeding! I am glad all is well with bub though. Hope there are no more scares for you now! My baby was measuring 6 days ahead at the 12 week scan too, but I have large babies anyway. My doctor (a new one to who I usually have) changed my due date which is the first time that's happened but because they had a hard time getting a look at the dating ultrasound she changed it for me. I am also concerned about shoulder dystocia with my bigger babies so the earlier due date means I shouldn't go "over" by too much. Fingers crossed! Lol

1bubba - Oh I feel you with the morning sickness! Mine has slowly eased off (from all day HG) to just nausea at night now. Hope you get a break soon.

AFM - Well new due date is 8th December instead of the 12th which also lines up with my LMP so I'm happier with the more accurate due date. Started feeling small, early movements today (that I know for sure are bub instead of the "is it??" Movements I've had the last week or so) exciting!! Hope everyone else is doing well x

Nothing too new for me... MS has eased up a little so I'm back at work one day a week.

We had a good NT... Risk of 1 in 2500 which is very good for age 38! We're still seriously considering an amnio due to our age etc so we can find out for sure.

Next OB appt she said she'll likely be able to tell the gender. We didn't find out with our first but I'm excited to find out with this one.

2catsandababy - im so sorry about the bleeding i was told that about 20% of pregnancies will have bleeding of some type and everything will be fine. But it doest make it any less scary when it happens to you.

Im still on constant bedrest at the moment, had another appt with the specialist yesterday and babies still were happy and healthy. The amniotic fluid levels still looked fine for now however i am still leaking and wishing it would just stop so i can breathe a little easier.

Work has been fantastic under the circumstances, I have been off for nearly 3 weeks and the doctors didnt seem to be thinking i would be going back any time soon. Said it was too risky and rest was the best thing at this point.

They are doing weekly ultrasounds at the moment so at least i get to see them frequently :)

Hi all,

Baby-Bliss2 - I'm glad your dates are matching up now.

My morning sickness is slowly easing up now - just afternoon and night now.

I had a phone call from the Midwife clinic and they can get me in tmrw as they

had a cancellation which is great! This is my first Midwife appointment and it

feels like a huge achievement for my hubby and I. It's all feeling very real now.

We both have come down with a bug which has kept us both at home today -

glad I'm going to the clinic tmrw to get some advise on what I can take for it.

To all the other mummies - I hope you are all AOK!

Have a great night. xx

Hi all. I'm 14w 4d today. I'm quite slim (normally 60kg and I'm 178cm tall) and for the last week or so I've been feeling a hard lump in my tummy usually on one side when I wake up in the morning with a full bladder. I can almost cup my hand around it and it's really solid. Would this be my bladder or my uterus does anyone know? I hope it's my uterus and it's the baby I'm cupping my hand around. That'd be cool :) I grab my partner's hand and put it on the "lump" every morning and he has a little poke at it too :p. Anyone else been experiencing this?

I get the same loz - I'm not sure what it s but I think it could be the baby because now at 15w3d I can feel it even more, even after getting up and peeing :)

I have that of a morning too, a full bladder pushes everything forward, hence why we are tortured when having ultrasounds and told to have a full bladder so they can see everything better!
