Hi Everyone!

Haven't had much to report lately. Hit the 9 week mark yesterday so closer and closer to being able to share the news. It's getting really hard to not be able to share the excitement that I think we will probably spill the beans earlier than planned. I have been mildly nauseous and headachy and tired since about 6 wks. I hit a huge wall about 8pm each night and have to crash. Weekends usually include an arvo nap as well. I'm also worried as I feel constantly bloated so I have been getting a bit of a belly on me. I'm tall, thin, with usually flat tummy, so worried people at work might see it soon. I don't think it's a baby belly just yet but it's definitely a lot more rounded as usual that I have been wearing my loosest tops and can't do a lot of my pants up. Someone else previously mentioned tying an elastic band through your button loop on you pants and then looping it over the button. What a fabulous idea!! Have had to resort to that on a few pairs of pants.

I did tell one close friend recently. Someone I regularly exercise with as I just haven't been to doing what we regularly do. She was so so excited verging on tears and that made me the most excited I've been yet. It's so hard not being ale to share it with anyone. Even the bad days I think would be made easier with someone to be sympathetic with me. It made me so excited to see her reaction and can't wait to see everyone else's once we share it with them.

Hubby is being amazing. I have hardly cooked a meal as my appetite (and desire for food) is all over the place and barely existent. I am so extremely thankful he is taking over a lot more than usual. He already does a lot but now he is doing even more. I feel so lazy and helpless, but just can't work up the motivation. The thought of food turns me off some days. I'm usually a really healthy eater so it's been hard to keep that up. Just making sure I eat, that's the priority. I just remind him I'm growing a human being inside me so that's enough of a job for now!

I meet my OB in 2 weeks today! Ill be 11+1 and will find out about getting NT scan done. Excited!

Rest up everyone. hugs to all xx

Lol eks! On fire? Mine get so heavy and tender, but I'm not sure about on fire!

I'm so glad to report that last night I fell asleep on the couch for 30 minutes and when I woke up, I just stood up and walked to the bedroom. Said to my partner along the way "please don't speak to me, I'm going to bed" lol... I didn't want any stimulation so I could (hopefully) pickup where I left off... And I did! I woke up at about 4.30am, stayed awake until 6 (and let y chickens out) then slept another hour. So about 6 hours sleep. And I woke up feeling like a million bucks! Woohoo... Of course I was stuffed by lunchtime.

I drove home with my pants undone today... Bliss. Lol!!!!! I think it's time to buy bigger pants...

Oh I had my first vomit today. Lol... But it was brought on by my chicken eating a lizard in front of me, sent me running to the toilet, but nothing much came out (which REALLY hurts your stomach!!) I usually have a much stronger stomach than that

Mine didn't cost anything as it was done through the hospital which is the only radiolgy clinic in our town. I think with DS I paid about $175 (??) but can't recall if I got some money back with Medicare.

Mine cost $150ish but only because I got it on a Saturday. They said during the week it's bulk billed but I wanted my hubby to come with me. I will get some back on Medicare but haven't been in yet.

Mine was $230, and having another one this Friday, I hope it's not $230 again, was only in there for 5 minutes! Apparently you don't get much back on Medicare, I tried to claim online and it wouldn't let me, so will have to go in and see them

My scans have never cost me a cent.

With dd I paid $$220 per scan and got $80 back from Medicare. This time round I told my dr I couldn't afford it and he referred me to the hospital radiology instead of a specialist. And the scans are now free. Already had a dating scan and booked for a 13 week scan.

We just assumed with dd that those sorts of costs were normal but I think drs will automatically refer you to scan specialists unless you ask - prob so as to not clog up the hospitals.

I've always just been referred to the local radiology place near my GP - and not just pregnancy ultrasounds, I've had quite a few for PCOS and also on my shoulder over the years, none of them have ever cost me anything. I had no idea people got charged for them!

Cassandra, have you added me to the fb group? I can't seem to see if you have??

Thanks for all the replies. I have a referral for a dating scan but it cost $200 with my last pregnancy so thinking I might give it a miss this time. Save the money for something else like maternity clothes! Goodness knows I will probably need them soon since I am so bloated most of my normal clothes aren't comfortable anymore. I didn't buy much maternity clothes last time and I really needed them for the last 2 months.

Yep, I'm friends with you but can't seem to see that I've been added to the group. Unless I'm having a completely dumb moment...which is entirely possible! My name is Emma S.

Hi Ladies :waves:

Big happy Thursday to everyone... Im working twelve hours today (9am - 9pm) and just starting to struggle (its only 2.00 ish) so I have made a cup of tea and sitting down to check on EB for a quick break ;)

Welcome ChristieV :bighug:

Cassandra - Im the same as Eks81... have been added as a friend (thank you very much) but not sure Ive been added to the FB-page-secret-society-thingy. Is there a special handshake we have to learn? hehe Oh, my name is Allison M... x

ErinNAnt - keep us posted on the subchronic heamatoma... im not sure what it is. Hope you're ok. Anyone know anything about this?

I have my Mum staying for a few days - she came to spend a the last few days of school holidays with DS and has (thankfully) stayed on an extra few. She is a godsend. I have so little energy after other than to drag myself to work, the most I can do other than that is grab some groceries on the way home and cook the night's meal. DH is fantastic - he washes and vacuums so I think I might keep him (as opposed to murdering him) this week. Seriously. I think my hormones are more whacky this time than last. My memory of last preg was a dream... I was full of energy and feeling fantastic. WTH. Already (at only 8 weeks) my buzwams (normally pretty modest/average in size) are already as big as they were when I was breastfeeding my son. DH eyes are popping out of his head but he's not allowed anywhere near them coz it hurts them even just to breathe!

I hope you are having a great day, no matter what youre doing. Sending you all a big hug......

ErinnAnt, great news about the heart beat! Don't get too hung up about the sub-chorionic haematoma. Did they tell you where exactly it was? Above or below bub? Often women who have subchorionic haematomas are just fine. There may be some bleeding which will scare the life out of you but in many cases things are not as bad as they seem. That heart beat is perfect for the gestational age! Well done!

A sub-chorionic haematoma, for those of you that have not heard of it, is a collection of blood (you might hear it described as a blood clot) that forms between the placenta and the wall of the uterus.

Oh, and my boobs are also on fire. It is a big ask to make me take off my bra at the end of the day, and almost as bad asking me to put it back on in the morning. Heaven help the cat who accidentally stands on my breast or nipple in the night, too.

Hey girls. I had about 22 ultrasound with my daughter and depends on where you go as to how much it costs. I'm a nurse so some places will bulk bill you if I drop that into the conversation. The private places usually charge, hospitals don't . For my first couple I went locally and the gap was $80 ( or bulk billed). At the women's ultrasound in w'gong it was $150 and they said I'd get $50 back. Then later on it goes up to $180+ I think coz they have more to measure, femur length, head circumference, blood flow through vessels and 3d ect. However when you hit your limit with medicare out of pocket costs most things are much cheaper or free. The local place now bulk bill me but they were the ones who misdiagnosed a miscarriage for me and nearly had a d&c as a result, so I'm staying away from there!ErinNant I had a sub chorionic haematoma with my daughter at about 9-10 weeks. It reabsorbed on its own. They just have to watch it if it's affecting placenta attachment.

And for me I've had so many busy days/ nights at work lately I just want to have a relax and tell them to give me a break. Wearing runners coz my feet and pelvis aches. 8 weeks now and Waiting it out til next scan on tues to see how my bean is growing. Hopefully away from my Fallopian tube and down into the uterus. Nausea not as bad this week which makes me a bit nervous. Hope you are all doing well. Take care of yourselves.

Just saying hi and to watch my ticker, tick over to 7 weeks :) C'mon second trimester. I want to feel better already. Fingers crossed.

My 12 week scan is costing $330 through QLD Ultrasound for Women in Southport on the Gold Coast. Whilst it's just the NT scan, they are a diagnostic ultrasound place, due to our previous issues. I do get some back through medicare though.

Hope everyone is well.

Thanks so much 2catsandababy,

It is sitting in the fundal portion of the uterus? not sure what that means? or where its located maybe you may know

It is 1.32cm in diameter and described as small, it is so terryfying at the moment.

Thanks for the confidence on a heartbeat not sure if 132 for 7weeks and 1 day was a bit slow? - my DP cried and was amazing to see, the both of us are just holding on hoping everything works out fine.

As yet i havent bleed and hoping agaisnt hope i dont

I don't know why but today the waiting for something to happen is driving me more crazy than ever. It is still 2 weeks+1 until I have my booking appointment and I won't book the scan until after that. So I don't get to meet peanut for at least 3 weeks. My heart may not hold out. I am so desperate to know that I still have a my little one coming along. MS seems to be reducing the last couple of days, and while my boobs are still hideously painful I don't feel very pregnant at all. I know I am just nervous since it's my first time and all, so I am just keeping the internal dialogue positive. Afterall, I have no reason to think there is anything amiss. I think I am jealous of the ladies that had dating scans booked. Perhaps I should have begged for one afterall. :) Aaah, I'll get over myself in a minute. hehehe.
