Age Gap Oldest to Youngest?

Recommended Posts

nayjay

Hi all,

We have 6 children (and 1 angel baby). Our oldest child is 15.5years and our youngest is nearly 7mth. So we have close to a 15 year age gap from the oldest to the youngest.

What is your families' age gap from oldest to youngest?

Zozo's Mummy

Hi OP. Not my kids, but I am one of 5 kids. My siblings were 17, 14, 12 & 10 when I was born. My mum started getting lonely so decided to have me :D

Growing up it was great to have older brothers & sisters to take me places & help with my homework but I was also a bit lonely having no one my age to play with.

These days I'm actually really close with the older 2. You wouldn't know there was such a big age gap.

Thank you for your replies. I find it interesting thinking of my family and how it will be in 5 years and 10 years time, etc. At the moment we have 1 in high school, 3 in primary and 2 not at school but in 5 years it will all be different again. Next year we will have one child learning to drive and one child learning to walk :D . I love the dynamics of my family but I must say sometimes it is challenging finding activities that include them all.

Mrs Doyle - Thank you for the link...mine are 14yr 10 mth and 10 days...so almost 15 yrs :D

Shell14 - I love your sig! You have a gorgeous family! I think last time I saw it you only had 1 grandbaby. Congratulations!!

Zozo's Mummy -

That is great. I sometimes wonder how their relationship with each other will pan out as they get older. At the moment our oldest DS is always busy with school, part time work and of course the ever important socialising. He isn't around all that much (often present but busy with study, etc) but his younger siblings adore him. I hope that they can have a close relationship as they become adults. Edited by nayjay

i grew up the eldest of 4 siblings. my youngest sib is my sister who is 12 years younger (two brothers in between us). i am now 34 and she is 22 and we are very close.

i was especially grateful to have the example of how to look after a baby/toddler/young kid at that age - i felt it made life way easier when i had my own baby as i was always very comfortable and confident in how to look after her. i already had all the skills like how to bath a baby, hold her etc etc.
