Australian Maternity Care Options- State and Territory, Public and Private

Recommended Posts

lucky 2

After a great suggestion from a member, I have opened this topic with a view to creating a pinned thread with Australian State and Territory based information and links to information about Pregnancy and Birthing options or "Models" of Maternity Care.

Each State or Territory is different, in the options available or the terminology used.

If you would like to contribute information about Models of care in your local area or State/Territory, please add.

All options, public and private, midwife or medical based.

Thanks for reading, :)

This post was exactly what I was looking for, but it looks like it's either been moved, or is unfinished. If it's been moved, could someone please point me in the right direction, as I'm looking for Brisbane, QLD info.

Thanks.

Victorian information-

From the BetterHealth Channel website-

https://www.betterhe...cy-care-choices

Comprehensive information about the various care options offered in Victoria.

Please note that this page is currently under review, it was last updated in 2012 so some of the options may have altered.

The Birth Centre option is currently limited with many maternity facilities now offering Midwifery Care Models within the mainstream Birthing Units, rather than in separate facilities.
