Early nutrition provides a strong foundation for your child’s future health.

For most babies, the ideal first foods are usually those which are soft and easily digested.

Australian guidelines recommend starting with iron containing foods, including iron-enriched infant cereals.

So when your bub is ready, why not start every day with Nestlé CERELAC Rice Infant Cereal. It is:

CERELAC is also the only age-appropriate infant cereal range to contain Bifidus BL, a friendly probiotic that helps support developing digestive and immune systems.

Nestlé CERELAC is also available in Wheat, and Oats with Prune varieties (from 6 months) and when your baby is ready for new textures, try CERELAC Multigrain with Pear (from 8 months).
Nestlé CERELAC benefits from over 140 years of infant nutrition research and development and has been tailored specifically to your baby’s important developmental milestones.

The portion size is good, bub enjoyed eating the cereal. I did not need to add any puree fruit to sweeten. At 4 months I was worried how bub's poo would be after eating cereal. I was relieved there was no strain or pain! The only thing I'd ask for is for resealable bag for cereal package.

Baby loved this cereal wanted more, it was a good consistancy, I will be buying it again.

It would have been nice to have had a sealable packet, I tipped it into a container, Thank you for letting baby try it.

Very easy to make. I tried to give some to my ten month old son but he refused to eat any. Tried several times but to no avail.

My initial impression of the product was that it came in a nice neat packet, I noticed straight away that it was the same brand as some baby formulas and I thought that this product might be something that my little one would actually like- I had previously tried farax and she had spat it out.

The product was very easy to use and actually tells you to add water instead of breast milk or formula which makes things so much easier- my baby is breast fed so any time I can get out of having to pump is great!

My favourite thing about the product was shock horror my little girl actually likes it! She managed to eat the whole lot each time it was offered to her and with no complaints!

I would definitely recommend this product- a lot of child health nurses recommend using a baby rice cereal as baby's first solid food, and as I said I had previously tried farax and she wouldn't eat it. This is a product that works for me!

At first glance, the box of baby rice looks bigger than the other more well known baby rices on the market. Upon checking the supermarket shelf, my initial thoughts were proven as it is indeed a bigger pack.

As with the other brands, Cerelac is iron fortified which was important to me. However this product differs because it also contains a probiotic, which really appeals to me.

Cerelac was very easy to prepare and my baby ate it with no fuss. I have also found it useful for mixing into vegetable and fruit purees/mash to lessen the intensity of the flavour while my baby was starting to try new foods.

I agree about the resealable package. Regardless, this is a great product and I will definitely buy again. I noticed that they have a wheat version so I will try that one next.

I was very happy to have received this product to review!

The size of the product was vey generous and I liked th fact that it was a well-known brand name.

Portion size was perfect for my bubs, very easy to prepare (especially in a rush) and I liked that I could make it with either water, breast milk or formula! I found it was also good mixed through some rather sloppy pureed pear I had made, as it thickened it up and bubs loved it.

Loving the fact that it is both iron fortified and contains probiotics, which makes it stand out to me compared to other products on the market.

The product was easy to use and my baby ate it with glee.

It would have been great if the product was in a resealable pouch.

I didn't like the words in the yellow box, I felt talked down to.

I understand that a baby needs Iron and that Vitamin C helps the body to absorb the iron but does my baby actually need Bifidus B? Is it okay to give it to my baby even if they don't need it?

Thanks for letting us try it out! Baby liked it and it was really easy to use. He tried it on its own and then with food and liked the food better with it in it. A resealable pack would be great as somehow I managed to rip the bag badly and then had to store it. Really happy with it and although a bit nervous about how number #2's would be he seemed fine. Would use it again!

Sorry it's taken a while to test Cerelac as we were already using another leading brand of rice cereal at the time. Unfortunately, I'm going to go against the grain here as my review is mostly negative:

1. The packaging seemed poor imo, and not being resealable wasn't very convenient.

2. The quantity (200g) seemed quite a huge amount to go through over a month period for a 4-6 month old just starting solids.

3. I didn't think the quantities in the instructions were realistic for a baby just starting solids. My 6mo only takes about 1tbsp of rice cereal at best, so 2.5tbsp with 90mL is difficult to work out appropriate ratios (rather than wasting possibly 60mL of EBM).

4. We found the consistency of the rice cereal with EBM to be very runny.

5. The extra probiotics is a bonus over the other leading brand of rice cereal; otherwise, aren't they all iron fortified and easy to digest?

In summary, I prefer another leading brand of rice cereal in terms of packaging, quantity, and instructions.

We have really enjoyed Cerelac. It was one of the first foods I tried my son out on and he couldn't get enough, quick enough at the time. Would gobble it up. Now he's a little older, I use it more to thicken up foods if he is struggling to keep them on his spoon and it works a treat. It is quite bland which makes it a good first food and also a good thickener. Would recommend!
