Antenatal appointment today at 10.30am. They're so slow. I didn't go into the room until 11.30am. (Naomi came with me again.) I've lost 1/2kg since Friday. That's nothing to worry about. After I saw the midwife I waited 15 mins until the doctor eventually came in. My blood pressure was 120/80 - still high. It's been high since 11th April! The baby's head still hasn't engaged fully - it's still in the brim. There was also a trace of protein in my urine, and my ankles and legs have swoll
Saw doctor at clinic today. My blood pressure was 130/85 - high! Thankfully I didn't put on any weight. The baby's head hasn't fully engaged. It's just sitting in the brim. I hope it engages soon! I just want to hurry up and have this baby! I'm so sick of being pregnant.
Nicole from the antenatal class had her baby on Wed 26th April. Lucky her! She was due the day after me. It's not fair! She had a boy. She was only in established labour for 1 1/2 hours!
Gosh I wish the baby would come! I'
I saw the doctor at the antenatal clinic today. I've put on 2kg since last Tuesday! That's not normal! I still have high blood pressure. It was 130/85. It's called pre-eclampsia. It can become severe if untreated, and you can have fits. Well, she told me to come back on Monday so she can check it again. I hope it's nothing serious. If it gets worse they'll probably put me in hospital and induce me. I've been tempted to drink the castor oil to bring on labour - but I'll wait a while lo
It was the last adolescent antenatal class today. Only 3 others came. Annette wasn't there. We just watched a video and talked for a bit. I didn't have my appointment today. I'm seeing the doctor in the clinic on Friday. I'm anxious to see whether I have high blood pressure still.
Last Tuesday I had glucose in my urine. I did the prick test, but my sugar level was normal. Annette said it's just that my lvier is getting sick of doing so much work, and is slowing down. I put on 1.25kg since th
On Tuesday we went on a tour of the delivery suite, maternity ward and special care nursery. I've seen them so many times now! In the s.c. nursery we saw about 4 adorable premmies. There were twins Chantal and Brittany (3lbs). They were so gorgeous! Annette told us that most of our babies are bigger tham them. It feels weird knowing that, like we could have our babies now! I don't believe I've only 4 weeks to go. 4 weeks fly pretty quickly! Next thing I know we'll be parents.
On Tuesday I wei
Antenatal class was held up in maternity ward in the patients lounge. There were 16 there today (not all pregnant). We watched a video of a 14yr old girl in labour. It was a pretty good video. She was in labour from 8pm til 2.30pm. Quite long! But she handled it well. I felt all funny and a bit worried when she was lying down crying and screaming. I'll probably cry with pain too.
After that Lena took the group and talked about social security. I have to get maintenance off Brandon, even thoug
I know now that I've been having braxton hicks contractions. My stomach goes all hard. I'm glad they aren't painful! The baby's getting much bigger, I can tell. A lot of the time I can feel it just by touching my stomach. It's right near the surface. It's hand pushes my stomach out a lot, so I can feel the baby quite often.
I went to doctor Goyal today. My blood pressure's normal again thank goodness. I also have thrush (it is common in pregnancy). I've got some Canestan cream for it. I've bo
Antenatal class again today. Tracey was here from the first class. Another new girl, Melissa, came today. We talked about relaxation and coping with pain today. We talked about all the ways we can cope like breathing, (no one wanted to prpactice out loud!), massage, music, lying down, showers etc. We had a few laughs. A few of us want a natural labour and birth. Although I am confident that I won't have drugs, I'm sure it won't really end up being like that. I have a low pain tolerance!
On Tuesday after antenatal class, I asked Annette the midwife if it was allright to be taking 6 raspberry leaf tablets a day. she said they are excellent to take, they really do work. She said they soften the uterus and make labour less painful. (Every pregnant woman should take them!) She also said that I could go into labour at 36 or 37 weeks. So if I start having a lot of braxton hicks contractions, or feel that labour is coming, to cut down the number of tablets I'm taking.
On Wednesday n
Brandon and I started the night time childbirth preparation classes tonight. They started at 7pm and went to 9.15pm. The women were mostly in their 20s or 30s. The midwife talked about the placenta, pelvis, contractions etc, when to go to the hospital etc. We played a couple of games.
After that we all went to the postnatal ward and to the Special Care Nursery. There were about 5 premmies. One was born at only 31 weeks! It's nice and quiet there. Most of the rooms looked empty.
At 30 wee
Had antenatal class. Annette the midwife talked about diet and nutrition and also breastfeeding. Mum came along with me. A new girl Cassie came too.
After it I had an appointment to see Annette. The results of my tests had come back. The vaginal swab was positive. This means there is a staphalocycus growth (nothing abnormal) in the vagina. It just means that when I go into labour at the hospital I'll have to have antibody injections every 4 hours through my hand. (They tape the sma
Antenatal class today. 3 other girls came - Jodie (25 weeks), Nicole (same as me) and Aida (31 weeks). We're all pretty close (in due dates I mean). Maureen (?) the physiotherapist spoke today about back and postrue, how to sleep and do things, and pelvic floor exercises.
Today for a few mintues I didn't feel very well. As I was walking, I felt like I was about to black out and fall over. I had a big heacache, so I lay down and I felt better. I feel tired quite often so I sleep (or rest) a fair bit.
Today I did 23 minutes on my mini stepper (it sure does work your legs!). I also did my strenghtening (or toning) exercises too. when I'm at Brandon's I get very slack with exercise, but I'm only there 3 days a week. I do about 40-50 pelvic floor exercises a day.
Yesterday I had my antenatal appointment. I didn't have to wait very long as I got there before 9am. I still weigh 62kg. I haven't put on any weight in 4 weeks (yah!). It's probably because I've been exercising.
Well, becaue I'm 28 weeks I had to have a vaginal swab done. It only took a second. Then I went down to Pathology. I did the glucose test. I had to drink a cup of glucose stuff and then wait in the sitting room for an hour. I was very restless. I can't sit still for a long time, then
The baby's moving heaps now! Sometimes it moves quickly from one side to the other, and it feels like I'm being rocked. The kicks are pretty strong now. I can feel them if I put my hand on my stomach. The baby is about 26cm long now.
Debra gave me heaps of clothes. I've got so many. Naomi did the ring test on me. Well, you put your ring through a necklace and hold it in your palm for a second, then hold it above your outstretched palm. If it moves in a circle it's a girl, and if it moves from
Had another antenatal appointment today. My urine test showed that I had a trace of blood. The midife said it's nothing to worry about, as it can be caused by having had sex recently or something else. My weight is still at 59kg. I don't wish to put on much weight. I saw the doctor there. She listened to the baby's heartbeat. For about five minutes she was looking for it, but the baby kept moving around, so it was hard to pick up. She said it's probably a boy because of how active it is. (It's n
I can't believe I'm nearly 5 months! My stomach isn't very big yet. People (some) say that you can hardly tell. Last Wednesday (7th Dec) I had my first antenatal appointment at Campbelltown Hosp. I booked in and they gave me another Bounty Mother bag. I saw a midwife. She did the usual things like check my blood pressure, check my urine. I weigh 59kg. I think I should be putting on more weight. She told me about the antenatal classes for young people. I had to have a blood test for spinal abnorm
Had an ultrasound done yesterday. Had to drink 1 litre of liquid. My appointment was at 2pm. Well, she did it for about 10 mins, then she moved me so I could see the screen too. It was so great to see my baby finally! He/she was moving around quite a bit (though I can't feel it). It looked so cute when it crossed its legs. I got about 2 1/2 minutes of it videotaped - so now I can watch it whenever I want.
Oh man I just can't wait for the months to pass. I'm now due on 5th May '95. Longer to w
Went to St George hospital, had a 2 o'clock appointment. they checked my urine and weighed me (57.55kg). I got a 'Bounty Mother Care' sample bag. It has cereal, nappy, cream, tea, drink, washclothes, a magazine and pamphlets. Well I went into a room, got into a gown. A doctor called Robert saw me. He took my blood pressure, listened to my heart, then he put this thing on my stomach and I could hear the baby's heartbeat. It was so good actually hearing it - actually having proof that I really am
Went to hospital. Firstly I had to fill in an admission form. Then we went up to the maternity floor. They got a file on me and we went into a room with a midwife. She just asked me a heap of questions about health and stuff. She told me to prepare my nipples for breastfeeding by rolling them between my fingers. Well, on the 11th November I've got my second antenatal appointment. It'll be a physical then (they do a pap smear and everything like that). I feel quite okay now. Sometimes I feel naus
I've gotten over morning sickness now. I don't feel 'great' like some women say they do. I've laybyed practically all I need to get. I got a really good stroller to use. It's really light and fashionable. I can't wait for the baby to come! My friend Leigh is also pregnant! Hers is due a month after mine.
My first antenatal appointment is 19th October.
Got the results of my blood tests. Everything's okay. I'm going to book into the antenatal clinic on Monday. I'm going to go to St George hospital. I've told mine and Brandon's family. Everything's okay. I'm still getting morning sickness. I've vomited quite a bit over the past few days.
On SAturday Brandon and I went to the doctors to get my results of my blood test. Well I'm two months pregnant Dr Sethi said. Going to doctors again tomorrow morning to have more blood tests.
Still get morning sickness. I vomited 3 times this morning - once in taxi, and twice at work. I left work at 2.30pm. I can't wait for the sick part of pregnancy to go.
