The transition from cot to big kid's bed can often be a tricky one.
But it would no doubt be very easy to talk every toddler into the big move if they all had a custom-made bed like this one.
US dad Eric Strong used his IKEA hack skills to create the ultimate children's bed after his young son expressed trepidation about moving from his cot.
The impressive bed features a slide, a ball collecting machine and a neon-lit hideout that is accessed by a secret door disguised as a bookshelf.
Strong visited IKEA and bought two Kura beds, a Trofast storage system and a Besta shelving unit. He then spent countless hours putting it all together to build his impressive creation.
The YouTube clip of the bed's construction has now been viewed almost three million times.
Interest in the project is so strong that the dad is unable to answer all the questions he receives. He has instead uploaded a separate "Q and A" video on YouTube to help out parents who want to recreate the masterpiece for their own child.
Here's hoping toddlers lucky enough to score their own ultimate bed can manage to get to sleep despite their excitement.
