Kids and parents around Australia are cheering loudly with the news that a limited-edition Bluey stamp pack is now available - for real life!
The stamp pack celebrates the much-loved animated children's TV series and is sure to be a hit with Bluey fans, young and old.
"The Bluey stamp pack will make a memorable keepsake with Bluey and her family featured on fun stamp shapes from our new MyStamps range," said Australia Post Philatelic Manager Michael Zsolt.
"Look out also for the colourful picture of the family visiting a post shop inside."
With email use and video chats on the rise, the Bluey stamps are a lovely way to get your kids involved in the old-school art of writing letters. Time for a pen pal, stat!
When the news was posted to the Bluey facebook page, alongside the caption "for mailing pen pals like Jean-Luc or grandparents like Nana Heeler', parents flooded the page with positive comments.
"Can't wait to buy mine today!!!", said one excited parent.
"I'm using this for the wedding invites," commented another.
"Who's getting these for themselves and not the kids?"
Created by Joe Brumm, Bluey is produced by the Emmy award-winning Ludo Studio for ABC KIDS and is 100 per cent created, written, animated and produced in Brisbane.
"We never could have imagined that Bluey and her family would be dropping through letterboxes and into Australian homes so we were delighted to be asked to collaborate with Australia Post on this set of stamps," Bluey Producer Sam Moor commented.
"We had a lot of fun creating the designs that feature in the Bluey stamp pack and we hope they put a smile on people's faces,"
For the uninitiated (all four of you!), the beloved series with a 'cult' following, follows a six-year-old cattle dog called Bluey who lives with her dad Bandit (an archaeologist), mum Chilli (who works at the airport) and four-year-old sister, Bingo.
It's quintessentially Aussie, complete with accents, fart jokes and backyard BBQs.
Since its launch in October 2018, Bluey is now the most watched series ever on ABC iview, with over 261 million program plays for series 1 and 43 million program plays for series 2.
The show has also become a global phenomenon - now also screening on the Disney Channel - and along with the stamps, you can get Bluey books, toys, lunchboxes and clothes. Merch galore!
Bluey is taking over the world!
And rightly so.
The stamp pack costs $15.50 and is available across Australia at participating Post Offices, via mail order on 1800 331 794, and online at auspost.com.au/stamps.
