Origami notes at the baby shower make a gorgeous mobile for babies room.
We recently asked our EB readers on Facebook for their tips, hints and tricks on throwing the essential baby shower and here is what they had to say.
- Play the chocolate nappy game – melt different chocolates and put them in nappies and people have to guess which nappy is white chocolate.
- Don't slave in a hot kitchen, get it catered! Try Boutique Affairs.
- Have a nice lunch with friends and a good old catch up with no games.
- Buy a plaster kit and make a mould of your belly and get everyone who attends to write a message on it for the baby.
- Ask everyone to bring a baby photo of themselves and have a guessing game where you match the photos to those attending.
- 'Invent' baby names from the letters of the parents' names, and mum-to-be chose her favourite as the winner.
- Play clothes peg game (you get a number of pegs at the beginning & every time you say the word 'baby' someone can get a peg off you - person with most pegs wins).
- Pin the dummy on the baby game is good fun.
- Throw a classy baby shower with a high tea theme.
- Grab lots of plain singlets in a variety of sizes, and fabric pens, and people can draw and write messages on them for baby to wear.
- Play the onstant cravings game - each guest gets a double sided piece of paper with pictures of food on it. You circle the images of foods that the mum-to-be craved.
- Guess the flavour of baby food game where you have different baby food and spoons and you have to guess.
- Guess the length around the pregnant mummy's belly using string.
- Race to put a nappy on a doll, one handed.
- Ask each guest to write a message to the unborn baby, then, fold it into an origami crane which you can make into a mobile for their room.
