The year may not be over yet, but we've already seen a few marked trends when it comes to baby-naming.
While parents are still coming up with new and interesting ways to spell traditional names, they're also finding inspiration in many other places - including TV and magazines, in novels, and lists of top 100 names from years gone by.
While Australian parents don't stray too far from American and British naming trends, we do have a few of our own. We're currently seeing a rise in 'Aussie' names, such as Banjo and Matilda, and are choosing 'O' names over America's more popular 'A' names.
Other things to look out for? Parents are still choosing place names, surname-sounding names can come first, and gender-neutral monikers are becoming more popular.
