Researchers recently found four bras in the ruins of Lemberg Castle in Tyrol, Austria, thought to be from the 15th century. One had broad shoulder straps and the remnants of what was likely a back strap, and researchers believe the bras were once decorated with lace. It was previously thought that bras were only invented after corsets went out of fashion, but this discovery showed that perhaps women wore bras first - they were then pushed out by corsets, before coming back into fashion.
