One mum has discovered that ordering online isn't always as it seems.

Louise Suntah ordered a pink backpack for her daughter from online store Next, thrilled because it was on sale. However, when it arrived it was not quite what she expected, with the bag being just big enough to fit a small snack-size packet of chips inside.

Uploading a picture of the purchase to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains, the mother wrote: "I ordered a bag from the Next sale. I thought my daughter could use it for school."

"Edit* (crisps for size comparison)."

The bag was much smaller then the mother imagined.

Facebook users were in hysterics over the post.

"This literally had my office crying with laughter today!" One woman commented. "The more we looked at the photos, the funnier it got!"

The post inspired other people to share online shopping mishaps of their own. "I ordered a new casserole dish when it came it was the size of a tin of tuna," another revealed.

Note to self: check the dimensions of what you're buying online from now on.
