It was only a matter of time but now it's official - Australia's favourite blue heeler will be bounding onto the world stage.
Bluey, the show that's stolen hearts around the country, will premiere on Disney Junior from late 2019 and the upcoming streaming service Disney+ in all territories outside Australia, New Zealand and Greater China including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, following a global broadcast deal between BBC Studios and Disney.
But that's not the only news we're celebrating today - long-awaited Bluey merch is also coming!
Melbourne-based company Moose Toys has been announced as the global master toy partner with the first range of toys hitting Aussie stores in time for Christmas 2019.
For Charlie Aspinwall, Executive Producer for programme makers Ludo Studio, it's a dream come true. "Partnering with Disney and Moose Toys is everything we hoped for Bluey and way more," he says. "We can't wait for kids and families around the world to fall in love with this special show."
It's a sentiment echoed by Jane Gould, Senior Vice President, Consumer Insights and Programming Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide. "The power of family is a cornerstone of Disney storytelling, and the warmth and authenticity of Bluey's family dynamic is what first captured our interest in the show." Ms Gould says.
"Bluey reminds us all of our own families, and it plays out the small but emotionally epic dramas of day-to-day life in surprising, heartfelt and very funny ways that will engage children and parents alike. We're excited to introduce Bluey and her family to our audiences across the world on our multiple platforms.'

Created by Joe Brumm, Bluey is produced by the Emmy award-winning Ludo Studio for ABC KIDS. Co-commissioned by ABC Children's and BBC Studios and financed in association with Screen Australia, it's 100 per cent created, written, animated and produced in Brisbane, with the assistance of Screen Queensland and the Australian Government.
For the uninitiated (all four of you!), the beloved series follows a six-year-old cattle dog called Bluey who lives with her dad Bandit (an archaeologist), mum Chilli (who works at the airport) and four-year-old sister, Bingo. It's quintessentially Aussie, complete with accents, fart jokes and backyard BBQs.
Bluey is now the most watched series ever on ABC iview with over 90 million plays and is currently the #1 children's series of 2019 on metro broadcast television in Australia.
In a letter recently posted to Instagram, Brumm shared that his favourite episode is "Calypso". And, in response to another frequently asked fan question he noted: "It's best not to ask where Stripe and Trix get their money from but they assure me it was legal."
BBC Studios and ABC Children's recently announced a second series commission for Bluey, due to make its television debut on ABC KIDS and ABC KIDS iview in 2020.
Penguin Random House Australia will also release two storybooks and one activity book from the hugely popular cartoon series in Australian stores in December.
It's going to be a very Bluey Christmas!
