Model Tess Holliday has shared a photograph of herself breastfeeding at work to show the diversity of working mums.

In the photo, posted on Instagram, the 30-year-old is getting her hair and make up done for a shoot while breastfeeding her baby son.

"It reminded me of Gisele's iconic photo breastfeeding on set," Holliday captioned, referencing a viral snapshot from 2013 of supermodel Gisele Bundchen breastfeeding while a "glam squad" did her hair, nails and makeup.

"Working moms come in all shapes, sizes, colors and creeds!" she added.

Holliday, who is a plus size model and body-positive activist, gave birth to baby Bowie Juniper in June.

"Nick Holliday and I are in love!" she tweeted after the birth.

Holliday already has a 10-year-old so from a previous a relationship, but she said that she felt like a first-time mum again.

"It's been 10 years since I had a kid, so there are so many things that are new," she told TODAY.

"My friends that have babies are posting all of these new swings and breastfeeding techniques and new bottles, and it's really overwhelming because I thought, 'I've already done all this,' but it feels like I haven't."

"I'm having to relearn a lot!"

It seems that breastfeeding is going well for Holliday though. The on-set snap is the third photo she has shared of herself breastfeeding baby Bowie. In another Instagram picture she captioned:

"My friend @jackiedunnsmith snapped this photo of me breastfeeding Bowie today," she wrote.

"It makes my heart swell #normalizebreastfeeding"
