Canadian singer Michael Buble's young son has been discharged from hospital just in time for the Christmas holidays.

Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer in in November, devastating Buble and his wife, Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato.

The tot has finished his first round of chemotherapy in a US hospital, and is well enough to spend the holiday at the Bubles' LA home, Argentinian media reported.

Noah is believed to be scheduled for another operation at the end of December.

A source told an Argentinian news site: "The youngster has successfully finished the first stage of his treatment.

"This is without doubt the best present for his parents and the relatives who have been helping them out since they learnt about his cancer diagnosis.

"To celebrate this good piece of news, the artists' families will travel to the United States to spend Christmas with Noah and make it one of the most special Christmases they have had together."

The cancer diagnosis came two months after the toddler's third birthday.

At the time, Buble wrote on social media, "Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well."

Buble and Lopilato have another son, Elias, born on January 23 this year.
