Eight months after welcoming her second baby Rosie, Megan Gale has shared that she and her fiance AFL star Shaun Hampson won't be adding to their brood. But the decision, she says, is bittersweet.

Gale, who is also mum to four-year-old son River, took to Instagram with a throwback photo from her pregnancy with Rosie. "Shaun and I have (un)officially said we've closed up the baby making shop," she wrote. "Meaning he's happy as is - done and dusted."

While the 42-year-old admitted that "for the most part", she's also finished baby making, Gale confessed that she's finding the idea that Rosie will be her last, a little "challenging."

"As a woman.. my god being pregnant and giving birth is such an incredible experience and an absolute gift that I'll admit.. I'm finding it a little challenging to get my head (& heart) around the fact that this is it," she said.

The mother-of-two described that as she watches her little girl pass through "all her beautiful little baby phases," she can't help but experience those "that's the last time" moments.

"I can certainly see why people go back for more," she wrote. "Babies are addictive!"

Gale isn't the only mum wrestling with last baby feels. "Ha yes my husband is in the same headspace as yours!" one of her followers wrote. "And I'm with you. I know it's a 50/50 thing, but gosh it takes some processing to (un)officially jump off the baby train."

"Totally agree," shared another. "That's how I feel. Totally happy with two but as my little man grows I can't help but feel a little sad with the last time moments - that's probably why I don't mind if he takes a little longer than his big sister to do certain things! They are definitely addictive and I never thought I'd feel that way!!"

Other women described "shutting up shop", only to change their minds later. "I thought that as well but than after 10 years I still had that yearning that never went away," one mum added. "I now have a 21, 18 & 3 year old so the yearning won. I just couldn't shake it but now I am positive I am officially done."

Gale also shared that while her partner proposed twelve months ago, we shouldn't expect to see her walking down the aisle anytime soon. "We haven't planned or organised a single, damn thing,' she wrote. "I'm the worst bride-to-be."

Gale admits, however, that she does have a pretty good excuse. "In that 12 month period I was kind of busy growing and raising a baby soooo ..." she said.
