Jessica Simpson gives birth to second child

Jessica Simpson has given birth to her second child, a son.

Simpson and her fiance, Eric Johnson, confirmed to Us Weekly that their son was born in Los Angeles via a planned caesarean on June 30.

His name is Ace Knute Johnson. He is a little brother to Maxwell, almost 14 months.

"Ace Knute (pronounced Ka-nute) Johnson has arrived! Mom and baby are doing great," a representative told the magazine.

Ace's middle name, Knute, is to honour Eric's Swedish paternal grandfather, Knute Johnson.

In February, the media reported that the baby's name would be Ace.

A month later, Simpson accidentally revealed the baby's gender on Jimmy Kimmel Live when she joked about her morning sickness: "The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous ... Well, I guess I just told the world that I'm having a boy!"

According to sources, it won't be long before the couple tie the knot.

After her baby shower on April 14, the singer "was telling friends she wanted to get married a few months after the baby is born," a friend told Us Weekly. "Jessica said, 'Let's have this wedding already before I get pregnant with another one!'"
