Singer Cheryl Cole, who welcomed a son with One Direction's Liam Payne earlier this year, has opened up about her beauty regime since becoming a mother - or more accurately, her lack thereof.
Appearing on UK show This Morning, the 34-year-old shared a mum-truth that will be oh-so-familiar to many harried new mamas: when you're deep in the newborn trenches, putting on make up can quickly become a thing of the past.
"My beauty regime has actually gone out of the window," Cole said, adding: "It's just been recently that I've had time to start applying [make up] again. It's been lovely. I went out for dinner a few weeks ago and it was strange to see myself made up again, but lovely at the same time.
"When you're taking care of a baby, 24/7, it's just not practical."
And she's not wrong. Sometimes, putting on pants and leaving the house with vomit-free hair is a win - let alone applying mascara.
Cole also shared her top beauty tip for new mums. " You don't always get time to moisturise, when you've jumped in the shower quickly while they're napping, or have a quick bath," she said. "So my thing would be, go in the bath and put in bath oil in with you so you don't have to worry about that and you're moisturised when you come out."
Cole and Payne, 23, who met when Payne auditioned for the X Factor in 2008, announced the birth of their baby, Bear, in March, with an Instagram post.
"On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream," Cole wrote. "We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival."
Proud dad, Payne, shared his own message, adding that Cole had made his "dreams come true".
"I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far. I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this."
In an interview with KISS FM, Payne also shared that Cole was getting used to "doing it all by herself", in preparation for his upcoming tours with One Direction. "She wants to know what it feels like when I'm not there," Payne said. "She knows that I'm going on tour, so obviously she's got a lot to deal with, which is hard. I thought that I'd get the call saying, 'We need a nanny for this, but no, she's doing everything.' She's really pushing herself with it, bless her."
