Radio and TV host Fifi Box has announced that she’s expecting.
The 35-year-old revealed the news on her radio show and in a blog post on the fox.com.au website, saying that she has “never been so excited” in her life.
“For the past few months I've been bonding with this little person that's growing in my belly and it is the truest and most indescribable joy I have ever felt,” she wrote.
Box declined to name the baby’s father, who she has been with since late 2011, saying she was respecting his decision to remain out of the public eye.
In the blog post, Box revealed that while she loved her career – she’s currently co-host of 'Fifi and Jules' on FoxFM, and is the Sunrise entertainment editor – she was fearful she’d missed her chance to be a mum.
I can't wait to meet this little person who I am already so in love with
“I was starting to wonder if [my career] had come at a cost, and for me it was the greatest cost, because despite loving my life nothing could replace what I truly wanted more than anything, to be a mother,” she wrote.
“When I first saw my little angel on the ultrasound I dissolved into tears and in that moment my heart exploded with love ... From now on my main objective is to be the best mum I can be, and I can't wait to meet this little person who I am already so in love with."
Box didn't reveal her baby's due date.
